I was hoping that was what it meant but was disappointed when they didn't euthanize me after a headache

 

Donor label shouldn't affect the level of care you're given. If you're getting cut up, you were dead either way.

(Unless you're severely cynical about the state of the medical industry, in which case... I understand and have no rebuttal).

 

Oh yeah I totally agree, it's just one of those things you hear crazy paranoid people say when they talk about why they don't do the Donor tag. I've had it on mine since I started driving, granted I think I've only been to the ER once in those 20 years but I didn't lose my kidneys afterward or anything

 

Just make sure they don't accidentally put a Doner label on.

 

damn really? I've heard that often family will push hard to go against DNR wishes and get lawyers involved, etc but I imagine that'd be a big lawsuit liability for a hospital to do

 

I am curios about your 4runner. What model year was it and how many miles were on it?

 

From what I understand legally hospitals will consider it a grey area because it's hard to enforce that you chose a DNR without being under duress and will cover their ass as much as possible one way or the over

Nice color but it's a 2.7l....can't imagine how much slower that would feel compared to my n/a 3.4l T4R

I was torn between a 3rz/manual runner and my Tacoma. I wonder how different my life would have been lol

 

Lots of room for a turbo though.

3RZ/manual Tacoma drives adequately. 4Runner is "only" like 500 lbs heavier dry. I wonder if it's actually slower or if it just feels slower because it's bigger?

 

for me the main difference between the two (3.4l) is the supercharger obviously, which I have so much more appreciation for than I did before, gotdamn

but I think the 4runner also needs a tune up because it's got this weird acceleration lag thing going on, it's more tired at 255k than my Tacoma is at 106k.

yeah the problem with that though is it doesn't want to accelerate to it's full potential right away. It's like it'll occasionally move at 50% power then wham, like a prolonged turbo lag suddenly you feel the rest of it kick in. Kind of feels like a slipping clutch but with that you usually see the RPMs go up with no power, this is different.

anyway I don't have any records of when the plugs/wires were last replaced so I figure I'll start there, clean the TB and whatever else might be gunked up from the miles. Not throwing any codes right now.

 

Slap an engine on anything without one and it's cart Blanche to call it turbo lol
