bringing up this topic again since I just took delivery of new wheels.

Should I put the ring on before the tire shop swaps my tires on to the new ones or ask if I could install the rings before they balance or install them last? I imagine that the rings are evenly balanced so putting them on post balancing shouldn't cause any problems.

    Thoughts?

Do not have the rings on during mounting or dismounting, the pry bar they use will rest in the ring and lightly scuff it. I know from experience. You can also ask the tire shop to remove the rings before any mounting or dismounting but they might decline to work on the wheels.
In short, if you don’t want scratches or scuffs, take them off before any tire work.

Should they be on for balancing or is it fine to put them on once I get home? It might take up too much of their time if I ask to install the rings in between.

Personally I would get them rebalanced after you reinstall the rings.
Wheel weights go by ounces or grams, it’s very minimal but any change to the weight will cause a vibration, even if it’s minimal at high speeds.
You’re essentially throwing off the weight if you get them balanced without the rings and hardware because you’ll be adding weight to one side of the wheel and they are dynamic balanced.

The worker at America's tire installed the rings for me and torqued them using my torque wrench because they don't have a 3/8" that did inch pounds or a 1/2 that did 6 ft/lb.
He even knew to put the cap's on perpendicular to the valve stem!

The question is did he put the lock in the same location on each wheel? I put mine on the bottom "D" side. I love me some good attention to detail.

It looks like the locks might be at the "T" but I'll check tomorrow lol

The "T" is fine by me. It's the people that just splay them all over the wheels that need their head examined!

Best looking wheels you can fit to these trucks, hands down.

I like that they are OEM wheels but makes the truck look slightly modified but not screaming "hey look at me bro"

Just checked, they are NOT all at the "T". I'm going to pretend putting the lock at the same location on all four wheels is a thing lol

These look good, and also just introduced way too much indecision into my life on black or gunmetal.
