I didn't know this is what it was called, but I definitely get this too. I still have my swaybar attached so it's not due to the removal of that.

3-3.5* of caster. Low caster will allow the wheel to buck too easily, and give you that bump steer. Or if you're lifted really tall as well, due to the angle of the steering and lower arms, you'll end up with more of that than a lower height lift would have.

Big thanks to Mike for answering a few questions for me and the fast shipping.

Switched out my OME springs on my 5100s for the C59-352 springs to help with the weight of my bumper and winch.

Ended up a little under the 2” mark.

    Thank you! Haha

Took almost 2 years to remodel this house so I had plenty of time to finish the garage before I moved all my tools in.

@Crikeymike could you help with some independent advice? This thread’s been amazing so I hope you can…

My local shop installed a pair of IMS59-50574s in the front of my Tacoma. It looks like they’re for 4Runners and FJs, and are slightly longer both extended and compressed than the 50220s… should I be going back and asking for the right struts or are they essentially the same?

    Thanks in advance

Those work fine. They're the same valving as the 50220 and the only other difference was the lower bushing width but they probably changed those out. Would be a good idea to extend the front bumps stops though.

    Thanks mate, really appreciate it.

The invoice doesn’t show anything about bushings - how would I know if they had?

I’m not keen on spending more on bump stops if the 50220 shouldn’t need them. I’ll shoot them a message and see what they say.

The bushings would have been too wide to fit in so they wouldn't have been able to install them

@Crikeymike Thank you for answering my numerous questions and helping me to understand my component options over the phone. Varied advice coming in and I don't know enough to make an educated decision. What would you advise that I do for alignment? (I purchased a complete kit; order# 12356)

I stopped going to them after they convinced me that I needed a full brake job that included replacing the rotors & calipers! Guess what? There was nothing wrong with the rotors or calipers! Les Schwab suckered me but good. I'll never give them another dollar.

    Yep, those are all correct!!

Zero it out (starting from scratch) with maximum caster. Turn both rear cams all the way outward. Turn both front cams all the way inward. Both sides will now be even and the tires will be shifted as far forward as possible. Then dial in camber, then dial in toe. That leaves maximum caster, and camber and toe get set to factory.

Excellent. I'll now go scour the youtubes to figure out what all of that means. :)
