OK, morbidly curious, what did he post? (Obviously, don't post the video, just what to search for and I'll go from there...)

Damn. Saw that elsewhere. St. Louis.

F'd up, dude looked like he was reading the instructions manual, and the victim just sat there probably not knowing what was going on.

FYI for others who may see it - camera man sweeps away at the moment of impact, if you will, so it's like 1% better but you hear the shot.

    Well, it fits the description....

What, distance all the time? Look at what @js312 talked about - the logistics for a one-off (or inconsistent) "distance learning" setup is bananaland. I think my town already does some level of regularity for "distance learning", AND I think they issue them computers/tablets of some sort regardless, so we're already primed and ready to go easy. For districts/schools that don't do that/don't have computers/tech issued already, they just aren't set up for it.

Shenanigans. Yesterday wasn't too bad, but damn, let the kids play in the snow, or let them help with snow clearing. In high school I knew 4-5 kids with plow trucks, let alone younger than that, I was helping clear snow in my own driveway. It ain't just about road conditions.

And this is ME saying "let them play in the snow", the grumpy old fart who hates the cold and would prefer summer days off!

I used to manage a video store in the late 80's. Our policy when someone rented Faces of Death (kept in the Horror section) was to ask if they realized what they were renting? Then explain to them that is was a very graphic documentary on death and not for the faint of heart or those with a queasy stomach. More than one person had their own look of horror when informed what they had selected and quickly returned the rental for something else. Probably the more interesting facial expression was from those who KNEW what they were renting when they put it on the counter. Some of them I would not want to meet in a dark, deserted alley.

Yeah, we're 1:1 with Chromebooks for students, but only the high school students take them home. So, K-8 become an issue. Then there's the seemingly endless home internet connection complaints, expensive Zoom licenses that would be mostly unused, etc. We're very rural, so we find that during many snow days we'll have significant areas that lose power too. During COVID we had a couple towns where this was a regular occurrence.

The state's view is things like that make it difficult or impossible to ensure all kids have equal access on short notice, creating an equity issue. We also found that many kids don't do well at all with remote learning, compounding the equity problem.

As far as "let them play in the snow," my district has a "no homework over vacations" policy, taking the view that the kids deserve a break. I think snow days are thought of in a similar way.

I understand everything that you guys are saying and I don't disagree with all the points. BUT during Covid most kids (I know one of mine didn't) use chrome books they just used whatever tablet-computer-phone they had and made it work, lending Chromebooks to people that needed them. They can count half-days as a day so why not do a easy half day remote and call it good.
Make up days are a total joke anyways as they usually just watch movies etc. I'd rather my kids at least get a lesson or 2 and some homework than to get nothing out of it.

Finally got 285/75R16 BFG KO2s installed as well as alignment. Looking at it I feel that it’s a bit on the small side and I think I could’ve gotten away putting on 305’s instead. Overall, it’s a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride unlike my mud terrain tires. Waiting for warm weather to start riding my motorcycles.
