True story…

I went to Walmart yesterday and actually saw an angel.
Long blonde hair, beautiful face, quite topographically gifted and wearing a very low-cut top.
Disgusting!
Me, not her.
I said to myself “Self, you ain’t in Hobbs anymore”
So, like the pig that I am, I discreetly followed her around a bit. Hoping for a chance at a candid “People of Walmart” cover shot contender. As discreetly as possible with a squeaky-wheeled cart anyway.
So, of course, she headed straight for the feminine hygiene aisle. Trust me on this, a 60 year old Uncle Si look-a-like doesn’t blend in well in the feminine hygiene aisle.
So I decided to throw caution to the wind. Take the bull by the horns and go for it.
I said “Excuse me young lady. Do you know if this cherry-vanilla douche really tastes like cherry-vanilla?”
Well, I didn’t actually say anything. But, by God!, I thought it!
Then she moved on to the tampon section and I decided I had to draw a line somewhere.
I moved on to the Ben Gay and Geritol section where I belonged and like two ships that passed in the night, didn’t see her again.
Probably for the best. Because, like a dog chasing a car, what in hell would I do with it if I caught it?

I need to start walking again and get back into hiking shape. My niece and her daughter came for dinner supper last night and wants me to go hike Devils Hall Canyon with them when it gets warmer. It’s a long, strenuous hike but well worth it. Especially in the spring.
