:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Still using a heating pad for a jump start, but aches are better than pain! Should get mower back together if the belt comes early enough. I really had all week (except a DR. Wednesday) on my plan anyway. No rush.

If you read 150 on-line articles about thatch in a St. Augustine yard, you will get 149 opinions on removing. Or, Verticutting. This was priced low enough that I am willing to try to avoid the RAKE. Which isn't popular either. Or fun. Might have to cut some tines out of the cutting blade... It has 4 levels I can use for dethatch, and I will probably need them all. I've tried most everything else, and if I don't, wife will get the rake out, and leave me a ton of bare patches. So, I will report on that part soonly!

Master Chef Tom sir - wife got subbed a pork roast instead of a tenderloin she usually makes. Didn't find a good recipe for smoker on their App, haven't done online search yet. Any recommendations for Pork Roast on the smoker? :hungry:

She Who Must Be Obeyed [SWMBO] references Rumple of Bailey, a British television series about a middle-aged London barrister.

It's a 2020 Intech Flyer Pursue. New, they are $23,000 and still in high demand, so they are not fetching any discounts (40% off-season is typical,
but Covid messed up with the supply chain and that pricing). I got this 2020 model for $15,000. Great shape, bat wing awing makes a 270 arc for shade
and had the Off-Road package (bigger wheels, more ground clearance).

I'm going to put a Lock and Roll hitch (full articulation) on it and a few upgrades, but the previous owner did some nice upgrades (Battleborn battery, 2000W
    invertor, additional wiring (looks clean).

I had previously looked at an aluminum cargo trailer, about 6x12. It's too wide to have good sight behind it. With a Tacoma, stick to 5' wide and short (less wind resistance). One of the ham radio guys had the same thought, and he bought a 4x6 cargo trailer. A few months later realized it leaked like crazy, and horrible workmanship showed up. StealthGTI is his YouTube Channel. After watching the series on how much work he did to prepare the trailer for his needs, it made sense to write a check and go camping. I'm getting old, and things take three times as long, so I would instead enjoy the outdoors.

His write-up and YouTube Playlist (good reading if you think I can build my own much cheaper)
    https://stealthgti.com/2021/02/13/tiny-cargo-trailer-conversion-the-problems/
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS8oelpMcTU&list=PL-eEOW1YZ1aU4QVs7EHU-i-VHXlPm4srQ
Lots of good tips, but panning the camera is hard for me to watch (I keep getting dizzy! If you own a trailer, yes, you need to reseal the roof. He walks you through what needs to be done).

    My trailer:
    https://intech.com/rv/models/flyer/pursue/
They show the optional tent (back doors open).

Note 2020 introduced a new roof rack, 2019 and earlier have problems (easily fixed)

Great weather; I got in a massage and a nice 3-mile walk, about 90F, so I worked up a sweat, but reasonable pace, so just under a 50-minute walk.

Nice... I had a box trailer for awhile (6X12) and liked it pretty well. Queen size bed, microwave, fridge, and plenty of room for stuff, and I could use it for other things easy enough. But yours is really nice and looks functional. Sounds like you got a good deal too.

@roundrocktom I never did much camping, but always figured that if I did, I'd choose a small pop up trailer with slide out cookstove. I'm not one to be comfortable ducking my head in a trailer, and would want minimum wind resistance and maximum visibility on the road. I can see how a larger unit having all the comforts of home would be great if I was one to be in the wilderness much, but one thing about traveling I like is to alternate pool and hot tub before retiring at a motel for the night.

Good morning fellow Porchatonians! Ended up just using the ATV plow blade and a little shoveling to clear the snow/slush from yesterday. East job. Another storm coming on Friday so we'll see what that brings.

For Lynn, camping is staying at a Holiday Inn.

    Good morning all!

Loved camping when I was younger. Problem is that I love riding motorcycles even more and camping off a bike means a small tent, which means sleeping on the ground. Seeing as this is the 60 year old thread I think most will agree that's no longer a good option. Considered at one time buying a toy hauler camper but realized that meant a bigger truck and even worse fuel mileage plus storage cost for the camper when not in use so nixed that idea. Did some quick math and figured out pretty quickly that I can rent a lot of hotel rooms for what a toy hauler, upkeep on it, a bigger truck, and storage would cost me.

    Good Morning Folks :D

Did a lot of camping in our younger years. Started with a tent, then upgraded to a '64 Bell Telephone van that I fixed up, then a '78 Ford 250 Econoline with a raised fiberglass roof that slept 3 kids the wife and I, then we moved up to a pop up camper. Life was good then. When the kids grew up we decided to see the world and as time has it old age is taking its toll so our next step is back to camping and seeing more of the States. Life is good :D .
    Have a good day all.

    Afternoon all:

Good luck with the investment guy Mike, if the market corrects as they are predicting, you may be crying for a while. On the flip side of that, people are losing their arss through inflation with cash just sitting there.
I always liked dividend paying stocks, even if they experience a price drop, I can still get a reasonable return on capital in the meantime until they hopefully rebound and hopefully go a bit higher than what I bought them for, which is :fingerscrossed: and !

Gld you asked Kurt. I will probably be smoking a small pork roast myself on Sunday. I plan on dry brining overnight with a rub designed for pork. If you have a decent spice rack you can make your own rub and control the sugar and salt in the rub. Do not be afraid to use an Italian dry leaf spice blend in the rub. If you have the ability to inject the roast you can mix some melted unsalted butter, a liquid sweetener you might have in the pantry, I will probably use some Agave nectar and some dry rub for the injection. Put on the smoker at 250 degrees until the internal temp is 140 degrees. Then use your favorite BBQ sauce and cost it with a liberal amount of the sauce and raise the grill temp to 325 degrees. Cook to the desired color is obtained or the internal temp is in the 150 to 155 degrees range. It should be delicious.

Pick of the pork shoulder from two weeks ago.

Should be fun trips. Wife want to the pacific coast the summer after next.

Good morning everyone. 46 degrees and light rain here in the DC area. Hopefully I will have time to watch a movie this afternoon. Plan on starting a project to repaint the cast aluminum outdoor furniture today.

23 more days of warm weather and then it's homeward bound :(. We have been enjoying the warm temps but there has been more rain this year than in past. One thing I don't miss is snow so after March 25th expect a blizzard because that's how my luck runs:eek::annoyed:
    Have a good day all.
