You bought the truck you bought. Don't try to make it something it ain't.

I remember seeing a supercharger installed on a 4 cylinder on YouTube. But still I think you’re better off getting in a truck that came with a v6 to begin with.

Hey at least you're trying and asking!

But no, you're not going to make that truck faster. Best bet is to either trade it in on something else or keep it as what it is and buy a crotch rocket.

Not sure about the 4 cylinder, but in order to de-sluggify the V-6 you need one of these...

Turbo. But I am me, so I would say turbo. A good setup won't come cheap though.

@BassAckwards 2TR accelerates quicker than it used to. Still stuck with the same top end, so it'll just get you there with a bigger grin.

Agree with this completely. I am stoked with the torque my 2.7L makes with the turbo and top end is similar to a URD SC. With that being said though, I have probably 5 grand in the whole turbo project, and that was with me doing everything myself except the manifold, which @Torspd fabricated.

The V6 trucks are not fast. I once saw a video of a drag race between a FJ, a 4Runner and a Tacoma and the race was described as watching whales race. They are slow. But that is not what sells the Tacoma. It is the reliability and the legendary off road capability that has it still leading the pack.
