People either love them or hate them, the downside is that anyone who really needs to use the bed will probably stay away from them. You loose even more bed space in an already small bed with the step side. Also really hard to find caps for them.

Personally, I think they look awesome (unlike the step side Tundras :puke:)

If you're selling it in CA you should list it considerably higher than whatever KBB says, if you want to compete in this Tacoma market that is. The right buyer will probably pay more for a clean step side too since they are much less common

yeah without knowing much and assuming it's super clean, that's probably where I'd start too.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I think the stepside tundra could possibly be the worst looking pickup made…prove me wrong?!

totally agree. Designed in that weird early 2000s era where automakers were trying to incorporate curvy retro styling into modern designs, most looked awful (i.e. PT Cruiser) and the step side Tundra.

I'm glad they never put that spin on the 1st gen Tacoma

Isn’t that kind of your answer? It’s worth what someone will pay for it.

Best way to figure out value is resale, either through NADA price guide or search similar models selling locally.

You’ve got a very rare truck, I’ve never seen one. If you’re serious about selling it you might try an auction site like bringatrailer.com

I had a buddy who had one, the tail lites are awful, looks like a mutated Camry Solaris (also a hideous looking vehicle), have no idea why Toyota even attempted it, especially when it seemed most manufacturers were done with the idea.

The only step side that looked good to me was an 80’s Chevy, either lifted or lowered

I use to have a stepside. Great truck.
Bed is heavier than a standard bed (did a swap since, as noted, shells are impossible to find)
Tailgates too (as I learned the hard way)

Go look on BAT. you can see all previous sales on a chart doing a search.
Also look up listings on Craigslist. Market is always changing but now, thats considered low milage haha

Stepside f150 from that same Era.
