It's not surprising. When it's not an overall design flaw affecting everyone, and instead a manufacturing flaw/defect that only affects a limited number of customers, companies always slow walk it. Losing future sales to those limited customers who got defective products and eventually give up doesn't hurt the bottom line...devoting time and resources to make things right for those customers costs them real money right now. In the corporate mindset it's simply not worth the trouble.

IDK,info like this on a popular enthusiast forum does steer future business. It doesn’t seem like that many affected but enough to be concerning. I am really happy with mine, no issues whatsoever; that said, I’d be pissed if I paid and did the work and had product issues that were not addressed. Could be something else too, these trucks are not exactly identical seemingly based on a variety of other mechanical threads. I do hope they are making an effort to identify if there was a component failure or manufacturing issue that resulted in a bad batch or QC issues with some units, then take care of those affected customers.

Bilstein 5100’s with ome 881 coils on lowest setting, JBA upper control arms, LCE header, 31x10.5x15 falken wildpeaks.
my 5100’s with ome 881 coils do that too on my 98. It’s super harsh on bumps in the front. The rear is plush. All I have in the rear is truck and auto medium duty leaf springs and 5100’s but the front is the same thing you’re describing. When I go over bumps it’s like my truck is going to fall apart even with the bilsteins.

I had the same on my 98 4Runner and it absorbed everything at hwy speed. The same streets I am having trouble with this suspension, my 4runner would just float over them. That's me seeing Bilstein more of a budget suspension since they're a lot more affordable than these.

Like I mentioned a few posts ago, I have an appointment to take my truck to their facility 7:30am on March 3rd. Took the day off for this, so I hope they find something.

*I own a 2nd gen and running this suspension. I am aware its a 3rd gen group but nonetheless it all should be relatable.

I am definitely liking the way my truck handles and rides. I haven’t had any of these issues that I’ve read other members have. It’s very hard to explain, but to me, the stock suspension was smooth, but squishy. To me, it didn’t seem handle abrupt bumps in the road and I didn’t care for the front end roll while driving on curvy roads. It’s definitely a more firm ride, but not stiff as hell either. I would definitely recommend this setup. To me, it’s way better than the stock TRD sport suspension. Also, I’d like to note that I don’t do heavy or high speed off-roading, but I do go hunting in some remote areas.

I love my 2.0 setup at 2.5" and kept stock UCA. It simply *glides* over speedbumps with no bounce. I have gone 4-wheeling and hit a sharp and deep pothole that gave a "thud" but it was most likely the front tire directly slamming into the far edge of the hole. I've never heard a sound on the street. I keep recommending the 2.0 coilovers to everyone since they were such a huge difference from the stock suspension.

All lighting are led, wheels, tires, 5100 lift, pro grill, bed light, seat covers, door sill protectors.

EXACTLYYYYYYYYY. When you need the coilovers to do their job and absorb like they say in their videos. Does the complete opposite. And I be like wtf?

The way the truck rides on the highway is very similar to stock, yet just a tad firmer. Love it on the road, but off road it's a lil harsher than I anticipated. Maybe I just expect too much? None the less, I may hate the issue with these and considering going back to my stock coilovers with a spacer lift on top. But I still recommend this suspension upgrade. Like I said, maybe I'm expecting too much.

You are not expecting too much from these . If my stock coilovers with a spacer lift made no noise then why should an upgraded one make noise

It's not just a noise. It's literally a 10lb sledge smacking the frame.

    It's extremely harsh.

Apologies on latent response from the team, our technical support representative (who we have funneled any coilover correspondence to) has been out temporarily, which means we have new people filling in where they can to cover. Not excusable actions, but just want to bring some context to your experience.

I have made the request on this thread for someone with the issue to please bring their vehicle in. We have still not had anyone with a 3rd gen who is experiencing the concern touch base for us to diagnose. We are 100% open to forward progress on this concern but we can't until we have a vehicle here with the problem. We can't address a concern that we're unable to replicate.

If there have been any new members who have not seen my previous request. Please reach out to thallihan@eibach.com if you are local.

If your willing to fly someone up to SMF it should be less then $200 round trip if you would like to check out my vehicle.

Otherwise it's a full day of driving, and that's quite a bit of a time/fuel investment.

I wish it was that simple! But you know well that would be a wasted effort without any of our resources available. We need the vehicle here so we can take things apart and back track this concern.

Comparing the stage 2.0 to other brands. What are the collapse and extended length on the 2.0 coilovers as well on the Resi Shocks?

I’ve been quietly observing and reading updates on this issue because Ive also been experiencing the harsh thud on bumps as well. Ive had my stage 2 for less than a year and the thud was there since the first time i drove it. I just slowly creep up on speed bumps to eliminate the harsh thud. It would be nice to drive the taco normally. I live in long beach just about an hour away from corona which is where eibach headquarters is if im not mistaken?

Just watch a very informative video.
    https://youtu.be/ATmyTbMJL3o @1:26 for exmaple

Makes me wonder. Maybe eibach is using a huge top out spacer? Which limits a bit of both lift and travel, causing the coilcover to top out too early and giving that harsh ride going over bumps even at a moderate speed?.

Makes a lot of sense now.

Dude, yes...email them, get an appointment to bring your truck in. I have my appointment tomorrow morning. Not sure what they are going to do exactly but they said it'll be an all day thing. Like I mentioned a few posts before, I drive a 2nd gen Tacoma so you owning a (cough) Turd Gen , I mean 3rd gen would help everyone in this group having the issue.

You might be onto something. It makes a lot of sense. I'll bring this up tomorrow unless Mark from Eibach sees it.
