Need help wiring puddle lights from 4-runner mirror swap

I picked up some 4-runner mirrors with the built-in turn signals and puddle lights and am in the process of swapping them onto my truck (which previously had base model style mirrors). My truck was already pre-wired for the turn signal mirrors so that was not a problem. I have also wired up the power mirror to work as well. The only thing I am left with is the 2 wires for the puddle lights. I am curious, could I tap into the dome light wires? Also I have seen that the done light wires run down the drivers side A-Pillar. Could I simply tap 2 of the dome light wires at the A-pillar for the puddle lights to work? Need a simple way to wire these up.

 

Dome light works off a variable ground driven by the body ECU. You could wire the hot to it straight from the battery I’d imagine fused properly of course, or a fuse tap from the 7.5 amp dome fuse.

and also buy a Y so you don't go cutting into the Taco's OEM harness.

You'd need 2 Y's, one to split the Dome circuit and the other to split to Driver's and Passenger's puddles. And the mating wires that would reach each door.

 

I bought the VLEDs, that is one of my better mods that I put in my truck. Absolutely priceless.
