Are you battling it by yourself?

 

Had a couple hours of company but yeah mostly just me currently. Jayson is battling burnout so I'm trying not to bug him too much.

I’ll never forget going to the machine shop my old housemate worked at, being rushed by him even as a full paying customer, getting nervous and putting the wrong brake shield on each spindle, then having to redo it all for full price plus more parts.

I also used a DuraGo hub on one side and it failed within a few thousand miles. Redid it all again with my harbor freight press and OEM everything.

Think in total since the 4WD conversion I trusted 4 other people/shops to do that press job and found out it could only be done properly myself.

 

I'm not really close to the final push of this project yet, gonna have some ordering to do really soon. Maybe when all the parts are here though

@04Pre_Runner I'm guessing Texas FedEx just hates its own state citizens. Tracking shows it came all the way from VA but the box is clean and mostly undamaged. Little wet inside but I can feel fluid around where the plugged the line holes so I'm guessing it's normal


Guess this means I have to actually install it now lol

 

pack it up in the todos and spare parts and put it off til after you move

 

A big part of me would. But the wife has started driving the truck more regularly and she's not so okay with having 2" of side to side slop in the rack

You know it's fucked up when a person tells you it's easier to drive a land yacht drunk then it is to attempt to keep the truck tracking straight lol

4runner nearly died on me ast a stop light, idle dipped way low ~350 then went back up, over and over. Had to keep the gas pedal fluttering.

Realized it might have been in sync with the AC compressor kicking on which I usually always have running. Turned it off and that seemed to stabilize the idle. Wonder if this is also related to the acceleration issue.

Guess I should clean the IAC valve

 

That year has a separate valve for the AC idle up, take a pic of the top of your engine for me
