It's crazy but being a Buell owner and enthusiast the sheer amount of bad info that always comes up about Erik Buell and Buell motorcycles is incredible. I've actually met Erik Buell on several occasions and ridden with him once on a group ride. He's a talented engineer and does some pretty outside the box thinking but his business skills are lacking at best. When Harley bought a large percentage of his company first in 1996/97 and then bought more later on I had really hoped they would give him the backing he needed to really grow. He never wanted to build the Blast, that was ll Harley and their way of making an entry level bike that if/when it failed they would have a scapegoat.

When Harley shuttered Buell in 2010 Bombardier wanted to buy them out from Harley but they refused to see to them because with as interwoven as Harley had made Buell it would have given Bombardier an in with Harley's dealership network. When EBR was started shortly after that the initial plan was for limited production race bikes to start but the coffers emptied out faster than they could be refilled. Later Hero from India was supposed to be backing Buell but after a fairly short time the dried up as well. Later everything got sold out at auction and LPA bought up everything and sold out the old stuff and tried to build bikes with the new parts that were available to them. I'm pretty sure they're the ones behind this newest bastardization/incarnation of Buell.

hey at least you stuck to the same region/continent haha.

Yeah at that cost I'd rather just pay to have my clothes laundered along the way as needed

It's part of why I picked the GasGas over the Yamaha for my 2 smoker. The TPI FI tech has been on the bike for 4-5 years now and has proven pretty reliable.

Naw wasnt hard, I preplanned my stops before the trip started and secured hotels then which made things during the trip waaaay easier. Just get on the bike and go, no worries about where I was spending the night, the only "worry" was gas and food but thats easily flexible.

You're prob right. LPA trying to boost the EBITDA level then cash out on the higher multiple. If it takes off, I wouldn't doubt you'll see an acquisition notice not long after.

Just added a big red pig to the stable. Excited to see what it can do in its summer digs.

Dang, I tried low balling a dealer for a bike (they've got 5 leftover 2022's sitting around) and they wouldn't bite. Came in a few grand higher and at a way worse interest rate.

    Oh well, I tried.

Sadly we're coming into the real riding season soon in most of the US so they don't need to bargain as much. Best time for that is right before winter if you live somewhere that doesn't have a year round riding season.

I live in California so we're not as affected by that. I commute(d) by bike every day, year round, unless it was really windy or raining so hard I didn't feel like riding.

Going to keep it 100% stock and just have it flash tuned to remove the restrictions. Say a vid where a stock Zx10r , stock exhaust with a flash put down 188hp to the tire. That’s plenty for me right now. Then if in the future I want more a cat delete exhaust, air filter, ceramic wheel bearings, 520 chain conversion and maybe velocity stacks can get just over 200hp . Lots of room for more power.

Got it. Wasn't sure where your location was.

I did a streak a few years back of trying to ride every day, 10 miles or more, on the street and I live in south-central Pennsylvania. Made it 680 consecutive days before a bad enough snow storm made it unsafe to get in and out of my development by bike. Started in March of 2017 and made it through all of 2018 and into January of 2019 before it came to an end. Promised myself that once that ended I would not start over. That was actually tougher to accomplish than any of my Iron Butt rides I've done.

That's impressive! Usually I'd give myself a day break every week to go do other stuff off the bike.

Although with this flat tire and waiting for missing shipments, I haven't ridden in close to a month (other than the Navi) and hate it. UPS is really killing me right now. I've had a package stuck in Reno for a week. I could have driven there and back in a day. There is no estimated delivery date, and no movement either.

Sometime when you have time to kill Google Blaine Paulus. I've known him for probably close to 30 years now. He was written up in an article by Revzilla a few years back. Lives here in PA not too far from me and can document having ridden every day for over 21 years without missing a day. He's at over 1.7 million miles ridden in his lifetime and I think last year was his first 100k mile year. He's the reason I tried to see just how far I could take it myself.
