Who said its a new truck?
I bought new in 2017, and it has over 100k. I'm looking for shop recommendations. Who you got?

I hesitate to get into the how and why the HG popped because we are still trying to get Toyota corporate involved for possible goodwill program/extension. Tech stream is useless as far as providing a failure roadmap. They want me to buy an engine.

Actually forgot about Euromotive. I'm pretty sure I brought my e39 540i 6sp to them many many years ago. This is good info!

One of my patients is a young guy that does detailing for a living at a shop. I told him I needed a detail and he said he would do it at his home which is right around the corner from my office. He did my Tacoma for $85. It was fight to get him to take $100 and I still feel like I shorted him. Prepare for rain tomorrow. I got tired of trying to schedule it around weather. It needed a coat of wax. Its going to rain this time of year. Looks good for today.

Not sure how $85 would cover labor and product. Truck looks great btw. I think we all would refuse to do a full detail for that price. It's backbreaking work, but the end product is pretty satisfying.

He didnt do the interior but he did a great job on the exterior.
I guess since he did it at home it was just product cost and his time. I still think it was too little. He wouldn't take any more from me. I am going to get him a gift card for Home Depot or Harbor Freight and give it to him next time he is in. Im 53 and I used to detail back in the 90's. I think I got $125 back then for a sedan if I remember correctly.

I took exit #5 off of 81. That put me on rt.16. I saw this closed up classic car dealer. A local told me that the owner passed away and his wife closed up the business. Some nice inventory inside along with a bunch of old signs & car memorabilia. A few nice project vehicles sitting outside. That 67 chevelle SS caught my eye so I had to stop.

Yup, exit 5 is where I get off at, except I turn left. About 10 minutes on 16 and you're at my house.

Those cars have been there since I was a kid. Don't think the guy really ever sold anything.

Technically "no" but when I went out and looked it over I could tell he did vacuum and wipe the interior down and cleaned the windows.

Well then i would have been satisfied with the $85

I used to do basic wash and wax with interior for $120 but I havent done any detailing jobs in years. Dont have the space anymore since I moved :pout:

It was worth more. I am going to get him a decent gift card and then talk to him about what his time and skill is worth. He doesn't have a father so he may need some guidance about the value of quality work.

Somebody gon have to eventually. Worst thing for them is to sit, looks like mostly good dry storage though, so somebody definitely still cares.

If its any help to you in that regard, if I still had the time and space, i’d charge $200-250 for full detail (with no buffing). But i couldn't guarantee one day turn around anymore. But i could include pick up and delivery (I always used to anyway)

Edit, i think what also didnt help, was that I ended up doing several 2500s and a 1 ton and they all had to be done outside. It was miserable and made me very jaded when it comes to cleaning vehicles lol

I’ve been running 1” Bora spacers for years on my 2017. No issues. I’ve taken them off a couple times over the years during routine maintenance or modding and cleaned them up.
Depending on your tire and wheel setup, especially offset, look into 1” instead of the more common 1.25”
My wheels are -10 offset and the extra 1” gives me the look I want for my 285/75/17’s.
If there ever is any stress on the bearings causing a detrimental effect, 1/4” width less will give you, I don’t know, 1/4” less worry as you cruise down the road? :D
Maybe it makes a difference, maybe not.
Still get plenty of more aggressive stance with the 1” over the 1.25”.

I am pretty much at the limits of what this spring compressor can handle.

This is how I oriented the strut mount. 2 of the studs are level and the face of the lower mount is about 60° from level. I transferred these measurements onto the new setup, everything aligned very well when I went to reinstall.

I think that I will need to get different springs, as I am now sitting about 1" higher in the front. My CV axles and tie rod ends are no longer level. They aren't maxed out but they have definitely changed. I harvested these springs from a TRD OR suspension that someone from our subforum gave me last year, the struts and shocks were absolutely worn but I just wanted the springs. I also have the rear AAL and some 1.5" spacers ( I think, they might be 2". I'd have to measure again) so it was worth the try to use these springs. The paint codes on the coils translate ( from what I could find on google) to a DC TRD OR suspension, circa 2013. Apparently they have a lot more spring rate then the ones that my 'runner uses.

I don't want to run longer rear coils, especially after everything that I just went through to get the Land Cruiser rear shocks set into the correct position. I might be tempted to go full ghetto and lop off one coil on the bottom and see how that looks! They ride pretty good, I'm sure that the Billies are helping too.
