your never too old for anything Phil. Age is just a mental barrier we give ourselves. Thats why their are some 80 year olds that can do 20 pullups and can run miles and some that cant even get out of bed. The capacity of the human body has always amazed me.

This was more so a off topic rant than about anything you said lol

    Crazy right?
My Grandpa on my moms side is 83 and if the weather permits he rides a bicycle minimum of 2 miles a day. up until about 5 years ago him and a couple of his buddies and their kids would go on trips all over the south just to ride their bikes. My great Grandma on my moms side lived to 99 and would push mow around her flower beds up until she was about 93. Then my grandparents on my dads side that were both in the nursing home by 80 and both passed away before 85. Blows my mind man I hope I got most of my genetics from my mom lol

I think genetics play a small roll its like the same with wealth. Some ppl start from nothing and some start with a million dollars. Not saying some ppl arnt predisposed to some things but if you have a history of high blood pressure and you choose to just lay on couch and eat pizza all day then you arnt helping anything, where as that same person with no conditions can do that and be fine and do all the things they want to do. Some ppl just have to work harder than others to achieve the same end result. Ive always lived by that standard and tried not to blame outside factors on why i wasn't ever going to get something or do something i wanted to do.

    Genetics :D

Are they to blame for everything? Absolutely not. But for a fat person and a skinny person(that eats like a horse) to stay the same weight....of course the fatty will have to work harder to beat their genetics, but if they chose to live unhealthy, you can't really blame genetics at that point.

My genetics don't allow me to eat a lot of carbs.....so I got an insulin pump to combat that

All ppl come out the same way and relativity the same size compared to the vast majority of ppl. Of course their are out lyres. People (in our DNA) are designed to go without feeding for long periods of time. That's why we store fat. It was to combat the winter time back in days before you could go to the grocery store or MacDonalds. You didn't know where or when your next meal was going to come from so we have the ability to store that extra food as a reserve. Plus ppl burned an extremely absurd amount of calories back then due to the level of activity people got. As far as carbs go, carbs don't make you fat. Over eating any amount of food will make you fat. Carbs give you 4 cal per gram vs protein at 4 cal per gram vs fat at 9 cal per gram. Alcohol gives you 7 cal per gram. Not weight training, Not being active makes your body go into a state of degeneration. The saying goes use it or lose it. That is a real thing. That's why a 80 year old who's been lifting his whole life will have significantly more bone density and muscle mass loss than someone who has lived a sedentary life style. Sorry didn't mean to get on a rant about this stuff but i went to school for this, i just happen to work in a different field now haha. I'm still very passionate about it. I do intermittent fasting every day due to the scientifically proven health benefits and life extending benefits it has. I love doing it and it makes me feel great every day. I'm not saying don't eat the foods you love all im saying is being active and not being sedentary is a huge part of being healthier when you are older and can help extend your ability to do things you love when you get older.

My rational wasn't really about life length it was about life quality after a certain age.

It’s proven staying active helps but genetics are hard to beat down. Just saying. I got a beef with them. :D
