Nope it's a 120v single phase. Really confused me as well... this is their wiring diagram in all its chinesium glory

Thank you for going out of your way to help me make sense of this. I knew I was fucked when I had to tell tech support (of the heat exchangers manufacturer) that there's a difference between a start cap and a run cap lol

I'll be going solely off the phase diagram above that keeps popping up since I have no clue other than this how much of an out-of-phase pull you need.
It would seem you only need about half the magnitude of Im for Is (start), and can remain in lagging pf as shown by I, so the cyan line can be around half the magnitude of the blue line.
