Hi…it’s your local dummy back with some valving questions.

I have a good handle on the rear with sole stuff I messed with and gets pretty close to perfect now. But the front could use some work. Since I have a coilover and a bypass I’m not sure where or what changes i should try.

From you guys’ help before we made some huge progress. Here is where I am now.

Coilovers have 600 pound springs with 10/10 valving. The bypasses (2.5 triple tube) have 0.018 compression and 0.010 rebound.

I’d like to soften up the daily driving and small bumpy stuff. I don’t have any giant whoops around here that would need a little more stiffness.

    What are some suggestions?

I’ve been told he’s super slutty so I’d assume all his tubes are open

Both of the comp tubes are fully open and I think the rebound is two turns in from fully open.

I would hate to suggest dropping compression to 12’s that’s a big drop. You could try running 12’s on your first couple big shims than stack it to 15’s for higher speed or do a flutter stack.

Maybe I’ll give the 12’s and 15’s a try first and see how it goes.

I need to order a couple new shafts so I figure while I have it apart I might as well swap some stuff around.

Quit worrying about road handling on a pretty well built off road truck?

Is there a flutter in the coil over?

I only care about road handing because 90% of my driving is on road. But still small stuff road it’s not great at.

Coilover is straight 10’s. No flutter in either.

How many bleed holes are open on the coil over?

I am pretty sure only one. They are standard coilovers from DSM spec’d for a DK kit.

I know with the 16” travel shocks you gotta go through the bed to achieve full stroke…would you need to do the same with a 14” travel?

Not if you go with the JD shock mount & SUA kit.

Check the bleed on you C/O. You have staggered tube layout, correct? I'd probably go to a .015 on compression in the bypass. You have hydro bumps so you can get away with a little less compression damping in the bypass.

Copy that. Because I really don’t know anything about it, what makes the 2” difference a big deal between the 14” and 16” stroke shocks and needing a bed cage or not?

cause its 2” of shaft and 2” of body as well. So it’s actually 4” extra extended.
