Few things need to go up on the wall, I want to replace the nipple light, need to swap out some outlets, and it's really close to done.

Really just minor details; excuse the mess -

Took the rad out, alt off, ac compressor off, and unhooked a bunch of wiring. Engine should be able to come out tomorrow.

Back when I worked at walmart the batteries warranty was in the system by the serial number on the sticker

The anti corrosion spray we applied to the terminals would lift the ink off the sticker.

Accepted a tentative offer for a higher grade fed DoD position. About a 20K pay raise. Not 100% until after my drug test and background stuff, but my supervisor told everyone at work so it feels pointless staying quiet. Had to tell him since the clearance investigator could've potentially called him.

Hard to not immediately see this as insignificant because "I was chosen" and anything I do couldn't possibly be impressive of even adequate. Also hard knowing I had friends making 20K more than this position's salary straight out of school. Or how "starting over" multiple times out of college was the right move, but cost me a few years. The mental struggle.

I feel like a dumbass. I thought my phones charge port was broken then I was scrolling today through YouTube shorts and saw a dude cleaning out the little holes for the speakers on the bottom and I said huh, took a dental pick out and picked a huge wad of pocket lint out of my charger and now it works great. Thought I needed a new phone

Yeah, even though new phones come out every other year...I'm betting yours will last much longer than companies want you to believe.

I'm on an S10 now and keeping it for several more years. Hate buying new phones.

My first IT job as a programmer trainee was at a bank making $13,200 per year. Banks were notoriously low pay in those days. However, the job did pay by the hour, so my OT pay was often more than my 40-hour week salary. After 18 months the IT department was taken over by a financial services IT software and management company. Then I started getting salary increases every 6 months. I was in a specialized industry and I knew the business rules and technology. My salary quickly shot up. While I started out low, it didn't take long for things to radically change. Sometimes patience is a great virtue.

It’s really hit or miss these days. I’ve had a couple jobs now where I’m really hard to replace because it’s a niche, but that doesn’t seem to translate into consistent raises. It’s hard to even keep up with inflation these days, my current job hasn’t kept up over the last 4 years.

I'd like to know where I'm starting out compared to other 1st year grad environmental engineers.

Dunno if environmental is that much separated from the rest of engineers but it should be around 65-80k, if you're in a normal area

I went to the Pixel 6 Pro after I returned the S20 FE the other week. Got it last night and my oh my is it an adjustment. Phone is massive, gestures aren't always consistent, my ads are back because apparently the Verizon one isn't rootable, and oh ya, the Google part :annoyed:

But buying "excellent condition" refurbished is definitely the way to go though - got it for $250 and it feels and looks as brand new as when they were $999 only 1.5 years ago
