I mean, I obviously saw the ad, but I’ve never seen the company mentioned before, there website leaves a lot to be desired and the Instagram is not terribly active.

Is this a dude in his garage or a manufacturer?

So altara is just a dude that imported a MITS setup for a Tacoma and Tundra then realized he’s not about the overland life?

How practical is pulling the canopy when you don’t want it on?

I’ve been staring at the RSI setup which looks similar and is 7300 for the tray then 6k for the canopy. What’s the mits setup run?

If you're legit shopping, I'd highly recommend paying particular attention to the weight of the replacement units. If I remember correctly, the RSI was extra heavy.

No. The trays and canopies are not from MITS. Removing the canopy is easy, 4 bolts and use some slide in camper legs to lift the canopy off and drive out from under it. The MITS tray and canopy are made from aluminum, RSI is stainless steel.

You get what you pay for.. And, I actually have the MITS on my truck. I have yet to see an RSI replacement system that isn't on their website or at SEMA. @FlatbedTaco

Makes sense being stainless. And as much as people complain about the plastic bed it can’t be beat on toughness to weight ratio.

I’m mostly drawn to the modular design, I’ll take being heavy when I’m going adventuring, my truck was built to handle the weight, but when it’s DDing I’d like to shed some. I live away from the GFC for that reason, and while I love having a cap I don’t need it all the time.

I am the same way with weight, when I'm doing more wheeling I will pull the canopy and shave weight, when I want to have a little more luxury I put the canopy on

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I want this exact same setup for my ‘17. This is super nice!

Been debating on which truck to do it to. I have a dbl cab taco and a RCSB Tundra which is a bit of a unicorn.

The RCSB would be a cool one to put a mits on!
