Hello everyone! I have a question that I know you guys can help me with. I ordered a set of Bilstein 4600 shocks for my truck. I plan to put them on tomorrow but from what i have read some folks are saying that I need rubber bushings for the front. Are these a dealer item? And if so, does anyone have a part number for these? I want to make sure I have everything I need before I get started. Any info will be appreciated.

The only bushing I'm aware of on your shock is on the lower eyelet and should already be installed.

Did you just get the shocks themselves? Just wanna make sure you aware that you will have to either use a coil spring compressor, or the slightly sketchy a-arm + jack trick, to take the disassemble/reassemble the coilover.

mm there are rubber bits at the top of the stack too. One for the shock itself, and another for the top cap.

    1) the lower eye bushing
    2) top cap isolater
    3) shock isolater

I don't know what the OP got their shocks. The shocks obviously come with 1, but I think he's asking about 2 and 3. But yes- you do need new ones of those.

Thanks for the replies. numbers 1 & 2 are what I'm needing. I do have a spring compressor to use. Do you guys think I should go ahead and get new springs too?

The top cap is, Toyota part number: 48609-35010

They are pricey. Wheelers also sells a top cap for a much more reasonable price.

I do suggest new springs. Trouble is, it's hard to find stock height springs. OME 880s are the easiest to find, but might lift .5-1" (above stock height). You can still get springs from Toyota, but they aren't cheap. Moog is the other option, but people have had issues with them being out of stock.

I have 110,000 miles on my 1998 TRD. I recently replaced my front springs with Genuine Toyota Parts. Didn't do diddly squat for the ride.
