Reno and surrounding areas: Official spotted, BS, and meets thread

Would you want to go skiing at a resort named Mount Slide? I don't ski but when I hear the term slide used in relation to snow sports. I automatically think of an avalanche. lol

 

Its even better when you have to dig out at home than go dig out at the resort.

And surely you've seen the Washoe Valley side of Slide Mtn. It's aptly named.

Speaking of jobs with perks and snow sports, I was able to pull my daughter from school today and go skiing. She's likely to develop a truancy problem if we keep this up

Trying out the new runs behind Lakeview i see. It looked like a beautiful day up there. Today is....not as good

 

Was a nice day. My son is bummed that we aren't going Sunday for our regular family ski day because of this storm...seems like we've had weekend storms for the past six weeks. I'm going to pull him from school one day next week to ski but this time I'll remember to call the office so my wife won't get a call from the attendance office again.

 

Stormy days are best days though

 

Spend some time on the mountain with 6 and 7 year olds when the wind is gusting to 50 mph and the temp is in the low 20s before windchill and report back.

Smart move. Storm days can be fun when you aren't worrying about frostbitten littles.

 

Man, fresh powder this morning was fun , went grocery shopping at 0430. No one on the roads it was nice. you can totally do 55 in 4high all day long. I don't dare venture out past 0700 on days like these. I literally watching a dude in a chevy hatchback spin the pizza cutters endlessly, why don't people get it? Either way might be cynical, but it sure is entertaining to watch.

 

Same here, left the gym @ 7:00 and some guy from Washington was trying to leave the Save Mart in NW Reno, all he did was polish the snow- in a late gen Mustang.

 

people are pretty dumb and non self-reliant.

 

Love the snow. Give me all of it.

although I do think I slightly messed up my meniscus again. Tweaked it super bad today on the hill. Does feel as bad as when I fully tore it tho
