I have had an ongoing issue with a vibration in both my steering wheel and feeling it in the brake peddle when breaking at speeds over 50 MPH.

At first I thought it could be alignment or tire issues so I replaced my old tires and had an alignment. that did not cure it.

Next I replaced my front brakes and rotors since my breaks were needing to be replaced soon anyway. Still did not solve the problem.

So after reading articles here it sounded like it could be my rear brake drums. At 224,000 miles I figured it was time anyway.
I still have the shimmy/vibration in the steering wheel and pedal.

I am lost now as to what it could be.
Before replacing the rear brakes I did get a feeling like I was rolling over a flat spot at very low speed breaking and that has at least cleared up.

    So my question now is?
    What else could it be?
The majority of the front end was replaced a few years ago when trying to get an alignment I was shown that the bolts were frozen and they could not align it so I have replaced the sway bar links, ball joints and tie rod ends.

It could be that the front struts are shot. I had the same problem and it caused my tires to cup. I replaced everything and it ended up being the struts.

Thanks. I guess that is my next thing to look into.
It kind of stinks putting more money into the truck.
I have another truck on order that I should be getting in a few months.
I hate to keep spending money on a truck I'm getting rid of soon.

Things you might try yourself: Rotate your tires and properly torque the lug nuts. See if the vibration changes. Might also get the balance checked. Shouldn't have to if they're new, but you never know.

Sometimes new parts are defective or out fo spec. Any of the new components you had installed, while unlikely, could still be part of the issue if not the entire issue. I read on here recently where a guy bought new rear drums that sat too long on the shelf and were out of round.

Inspect your carrier bearing for excessive play.

I'd also check the condition of the steering rack bushings.

In general, look over what work has been done recently, by you or someone else, and make sure it was done properly.

If you really do have a 2013, you might want to try posting in the correct sub forum. There might be generation-specific features on your 2013 that we old 1st gen'ers don't know about. In general though, your steps seem right, so just gotta keep ticking items off the list until one of them solves it. Carrier bearing, u joints, could be culprits as well.

Classic warped rotors, new rotors can be turned poorly, a brake job is only as good as the person doing it. Put a DI on the rotors and check runout.

This here^^^ some aftermarket part are really sh*t even though they are "new". Ive experienced this before specifically brake rotors.
Issues your are saying really point to warp rotors. I would get some OEM rotors and see what happens. Also make sure you are also using new brake pads as well. Good luck
