1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Tin Woody 4 Door Station Wagon

The same basic body was used from 1949-54, the nose details make this a 1951.

 

Also, that did NOT look like a Chevrolet badge!

1953-55 International Harvester R Model, it a light duty R-110 to R-130 truck as the medium duty versions, R-140 and up had a style line on the fender.

 

That was there.

 

Entry: Playbill and fabric from Lincoln’s theater box:



Playbill from Lincoln assassination we loan to historical societies etc.

My paternal grandmothers uncles sisters husband (how’s that for a thanksgiving dinner table riddle) was one of the four DC policeman who were drinking in the nearby tavern and responded to the scene. Souvenir hunters were already scavenging the theater box and he ended up with this playbill and also curtain fabric. Both are authentic in as much as the curtain fabric is distinctive and matched photos of the box, and the playbill does not list the president’s name, which was added to the remaining bills once the theater knew he was coming. This means it’s the one used as the invitation to the White House, and indeed shows some staining.

Where did you come across that gem?

 

It was in front of a local scrap metal yard for years,, It's gone now

 

Probably started out looking something like this:



Fargo started as an independent maker and was purchased by Chrysler in the 1920's, Dodge was later purchased by Chrysler as well.
The trucks were marketed just as Chev & Gmc twins are today, giving Chrysler/Plymouth dealers a truck to offer, Dodge car dealers obviously offered Dodge trucks.

A Plymouth truck was introduced in 1937 and the Fargo name was no longer offered in the US, it was used in Canada until 1972.

US spec Dodge trucks used a data plate in the door area that said both Fargo and De Soto well into the 70's.
