Same, last camping trip the wife and I did was around May or June and we had just gotten Biscuit.

Since then, we just stayed in hotels or even a few cabins.

Damn, a house like 5 over from mine just sold for 105k, I mean it makes sense you can actually watch it deteriorate in the listings over the years. But like I'm amazed it sold for 5k over what it sold for in 2006. It basically needs an entire gutting and then a full exterior overhaul and yard. If it wasn't a historic house I'd say it needs a fucking teardown. I don't even know how people have been living in it, the second floor hasn't had windows or walls in like a year.

My last outing was a month ago so I shouldn't complain too much. Stay warm and drink good beer!

At the same time... an empty lot for $100k isn't a bad a deal around here.

There's an oversized lot with a two-car garage for only $150k that I find intriguing. I'm not actually shopping but it's fun to think about. The street view even shows the lot with a bunch of old pickups in it, so the neighbors are primed for yard cars.

It's on Race Street, man I'd hope they're okay with beaters. 100k is absolutely worth it for the land here as well, actually my thoughts are that this house despite it's status will be torn down (no great loss, only raises my property values) and something small and new will go up an sell for 500k or so. Houses on my street generally move around the 360-420k range and they're all century houses, can't imagine what a new one would be worth.

Race street actually looks like an alley in the street view, which somehow makes it even more appealing. Not really in my neighborhood but not far from it.

I see what you mean. Most of my neighborhood is 400k+ now. It was a solid 300-400k neighborhood two years ago, and was probably a comfortable 200-300k only a few years prior. Mostly 800-1200 sq ft cottages from the turn of the 20th centruy. It's surprisingly rare for folks to tear down and replace. People just keep adding new rooms, nevermind that the floors in every room pitch a different direction. It's quirky and charming and I hope it stays that way.

Last summer, a house was lifted off its foundation and moved to the back of the lot so a new foundation could be poured for it. It was something to see... a big pile of dirt in front of a big hole in the ground in front of a house on cinderblocks. That house wasn't even much to look at, but maybe it was cheaper than building a totally new structure?

Your neighborhood sounds a lot like mine actually. These houses are all quite old and I may have a few rooms that pitch in different directions... I think most of these started out in the 1500sq ft range and many are now in the 2500sq ft range after additions and whatnot. It is charming

I put about 2" of blocks under one corner of my bed and 1" under another to get my mattress level.

We have been really good about leaving food in the counter the last 6 mo but the first time w don't he calls us out. He commits his crimes as soon as my wife leaves as if it was premeditated. Like she was rolling out the driveway when he did that.

Oh man; ours only act up with my wife but not with me.

    Kitchen?

Off limits, and if I'm nearby...they both make sure to stay out. If I'm in a room, garage, or anywhere else, they'll follow my wife into the kitchen

Bronx is an old fart, and as stubborn as a dog can be. Really good boy, but if he wants to stay outside, he'll ignore my wife when she calls him back inside  takes me having to say it once, and firmly, for him to come inside.

When people come by though, Bronx barks and barks until you say hi to him.

Biscuit? Runs to me and is too timid to say hi until you've been over enough times.
