Under tonneau in bed storage

Hey folks,

Figured I'd show an interesting storage idea for those of us that run a tonneau cover. It's a Pelican BX55 mounted to a molle panel.


There is enough space on the sides to mount extinguishers or to store chocks and other odds and ends.

How do you keep the box from walking off? Is it hard mounted to the molle panel?

I have had low lifes open my hard cover and walk away with cargo nets in the past. They now reside in the passenger seat back until needed.

 

It's hard mounted. If you look closely at the front of the box, you'll see metal brackets right under the locks. Those same brackets are on the back as well. I have the box mounted to the panel via a piece a 2x1 aluminum square tubing acting as a spacer - this is needed for the lid to open. If someone wanted to steal the box, they'd need to remove the whole panel.

 

I'm getting the BX80 with the mount.
hope it doesn't interfere with the folding tonneau cover
