Yes that's percentage correction to the fuel amount. the haltech software is great because they have a description of each field and what it does and how it affects things.

You should really use the air temp correction with an IAT sensor you have half of what speed density metering needs to accurately fuel in all conditions. Would help on especially hot days too. But yeah those are the default correction maps, you can define your own as well to make percentage changes in conditional situations.

I do anticipate needing to use that when summer comes around.
Is that coolant temp correction map the default? Didn't realize that.

A coolant temperature correction is one of the default maps that's present in ignition and fuel tuning. Speed density literally relies on an intake air temperature sensor to work properly though so not having it present in your system is really odd. You think about it you can't figure out the volume of a column of air without knowing temperature and pressure. Right now you've only got pressure and a loose guess at temperature.

I have a temp sensor, I'm just saying I'm not using the air temp correction fuel table. afaik there's no speed density settings or tables or anything in the program

When you don't have a MAF sensor (I mean being utilized by the computer, I realize you still have one physically) and you instead use manifold pressure/intake air you're using speed density metering. Not having your intake air sensor in the post boost air stream (or not havig one at all) leads to a measurement that is off. There are settings for speed density parameters in Nexus and ESP by the way. You're currently using it though, so might as well familiarize yourself with it more

Speedy is right, but is there perhaps an additional temperature correction table beyond what is needed for speed-density tuning? ie: higher temps, lower density/less air mass per unit of volume, but you may want more fuel anyway at higher temps
Just as you might want to run richer when coolant temps are cold

Yep you can create like 10 correction tables that you define yourself for ignition, lambda, and fuel in haltech. Correction tables can also be conditional which is super convenient

Gotcha. If I had known I was going to do a standalone before installing the SC, I would have tapped on the of the runners to put the temp sensor there instead. If it ever comes off again, I'll definitely move the sensor there.
But for now that's what I'm working with.

It can get pretty complicated when you have a bunch of different correction tables that add or subtract from the base table. I have a hard enough time already keeping it straight in my head with all of the different tables there are for idle control

I eventually plan on getting the haltech when I’m abusing my wallet less. But @1997tacomav6 do you have a write up or post about your snow meth water kit ? I think I want to get this done before the summer months.

I just started down the path of making some more injector options available to us first gen folks with stand alone computers. I didn't like that the only options currently sold were old style air assist injectors which the design dates back to the late 80s on. So I've started coming up with a kit to fit late model Bosch 36mm (height) injectors in our trucks without modification to the lower intake manifold or fuel rail. This would open up injector sizes we couldn't achieve using the old air assist Denso injectors. These Bosch injectors are also much cheaper, starting at just $45 a piece directly from Bosch and you can get larger displacements from common domestic car parts sellers as these injectors are commonly used in Supercharged LS engines.

Would anyone here have interest in these if I started putting together kits? I can get the injectors cheaper in bulk packs (NEW not reman) and pass along the savings ultimately. I think I could sell a full set in sizes ranging from 495cc to 1500cc for $380-$500 roughly depending on size.

These are the neato little Bosch injectors I'm going to be using...

Do you know if RZ injectors are the same height as 5VZ injectors?

I believe they are but the lower cup design is different. If you wanted to do this I'd need you to test and aftermarket lower cut and tell me if it fits.

I got a set of "direct-fit" 750cc bosch ones from SNP, but they were just a hair too tall so I had to space the fuel rail up with a washer to compensate.
I have an aftermarket head which might have something to do with it, but the OEM injectors worked just fine with it and OEM injector cups.
I have an OEM head sitting that I could test with though if you want to verify. Do you mean test with the lower half of the injector?

I'd just send you a full setup, injector, cup, and tophat. But you'd need a spare fuel rail too. Lemme do some research, the 3RZ and 2RZ weren't hard to find injectors for like the damn 5VZ. I didn't have any issue finidng others for mine back in the day, but a one sizer fits all would be nice to offer

I can get a spare fuel rail.
I don't necessarily need to buy a set, but I'm happy to help test if you want to advertise compatibility with the RZ platform as well if you start selling kits

I'll get back to you on this, once I have a few components in hand I'd like to have you test one. I have access to a 22RE right now which as I understand it uses the same size injectors (physically) as a 3RZ.
