    Dang.

How are you guys getting only 15
    MPGs?

I’m about 650 pounds overweight and can still easily get 17 in city. I do drive pretty conservative.

Have you been idling a lot more than usual lately?

No. In fact, when a train is crossing my path, if it's a slow freight train I'll shut down and wait for the last car to pass. Idling here is basically illegal, but they don't seem to enforce it. Aside from reasonable waits at traffic lights they don't want you idling. Especially in school zones.

So back to my question: Can I clean the O2 sensor and expect reasonable results?

AF is fairly new. Checked it again and it's still quite clean. Not a lot of driving.

You keep asking about cleaning 02 sensors.

That’s a really odd thing to do as they are non serviceable parts. Usually sensors don’t go bad until 100-150k miles after which you replace them.

The computer is super anal about 02 sensor performance so it will most likely throw a code if not functioning right

Clean the throttle body, but do it the right way not just shooting cleaner down it :)

Especially not at 30k and no codes.

I think your expectations on MPG are pretty high. Were those on the window sticker or something?

OP dont touch the O2 sensor if you are not getting a code. If you mess up the sensor they are not cheap to replace. But it is your truck so you can do anything you want. I get close to 16.5 mpg in the winter. 5-10 minute of remote startup every morning.

@Ciggy1084 - try a bottle of Techron fuel cleaner on your next fill up. Whenever I get some unusual drop in my mpgs, I use a bottle and it jumps back to normal. I run Maverik 87 E0 - costs $.30 more a gallon but my truck runs better on it.

No, not "Hell-Bent". Asking if it's true what I'm seeing. I'm having a hard time believing it myself, which is why I came here to ask.
Ran a bottle of Seafoam through the fuel system. So far I'm not seeing any improvement.

Been running Maverick with Ethanol, whatever their cheapest grade is. Maybe I will try running some straight gas, non-ethanol.

If you are not getting a CEL pointing to O2 sensor, you shouldn’t need to play with it. Typically you’ll know if there’s a problem with it.

Try better quality gas than Maverick. Run a few tanks of Chevron or Shell. And/or throw in some fuel injector cleaner into the system.

Don’t make something out of nothing.

I have a 2017 Sport with spacer and block lift, 265/75/16s P-rated tires, and around town I’m getting in the 17s using Winter/blend 87 octane. I’m running 32 psi. I took a trip driving 65-70 last November, few hundred miles, and got up to 19.5. I’m easy on the gas acceleration. My mileage is right at 74,000. I expect mileage will be better this summer with these tires. It’s a truck, so what I get is acceptable.

There are dozens of threads spewing “I get x mpg’s.” We really don’t need another. Everyone’s driving condition is different.
