I don't know about Tacoma, but my wife wants to replace her '07 Highlander with a Rav4. Lots of off lease cars showing up and more and more new Ravs as well.

Part of that may also be people holding off in the hope that prices and interest rates may ease.

The 4.0 and A750 transmission is far more loved then the 3.5 and 6 speed auto.

FWIW, the 3.5 engine is a great CAR engine, as a truck engine, it's ''meh'' at best. The 6 speed auto, also not bad, just ''tuned'' for fuel economy and has horrible shift algorithm's that keep the engine RPM low when shifting up but the engine is far better at making power higher up in the RPM band.

Facts. Timing cover leaks, rear diff howl, front diff needle bearing vibes, several other design flaws inside and out. It's amazing how much Toyota quality has decreased over the years. They were built so much better in the late 90's and early 2000's.

    Or true trade value.

It's a 3 shells and a pea game. Price, trade, financing. The pea is the vehicle you want, which is rarely available exactly as you want it, because you can't order anymore.... Only request an allocation that's close.

Unless you get lucky and what you want is sitting on the lot.

If that combo was hated that bad, l doubt it would keep selling a quarter million units per year and dominating the mid-sized truck segment.

The thing is, the vast, vast, majority just don’t really give a shit as long as it runs. We pick things apart because we care, but most people don’t

My buddy was offered $36k for his 2022 TRD sport in September. They (carmax) called him last week and offered him $39500. I think it might be getting tighter.

I think it’s changing. My local dealer not only has 3 in front of the building, but they’re actually announcing it at the radio. A first in a few years.

Had to go out of town for work. I saw Tacoma’s in Maryland for 6500 over msrp and another dealer had 2500 over msrp. Only 2 on one lot and 1 on another.

In PA I saw anywhere from 1000 to 7500 over msrp all claiming market adjustment value.

I made it a point to stop at 7 dealerships as they were all near where I needed to be or close to a gas stop. The 2 in MD that had a market adjustment only had one each. The other dealership didn’t charge a market adjustment didn’t have any on the lot. Salesman said they would get one it would be gone in less than 24 hours

The 4 in PA all had a market adjustment.
The lowest dealer with 1K markup didn’t have any on the lot and also said that along with the tundra couldn’t keep any on the lot. The one with 2500 markup had 2 on the lot.

The dealer with the 7500 markup had one. It was a pro and had more things added on at the dealer and the port than I even knew existed. Let’s just say that you could almost get 2 SR5s for what they wanted. Been on the lot for over 35 days. At that price I think it’s going to be there for a while.

Seems like dealers are still playing games in those states just like here in VA.
