Massaman curry tonight….



Chicken, onions, sweet potato, pineapple, cashews.

 

Tacos.

Pork, ground beef in taco seasoning. Mushrooms in old bay. Potatoes in adobo. "queso" is a vegan thing but it's really good (potatoes carrots jalapenos blended up, I request it, it's delicious).

Sorry I started to dig in before I took a picture of the as prepared. Next ones were better looking but I then forgot to get more pictures

I'm fairly certain the label on these almond cakes is incorrect.



Especially when compared to the label on these Madelines, which is surprisingly similar for serving size, fat, etc. Everything except calories.



If not, holy calorie bomb!

The second one doesn't have any almonds in it.

I thought that but I would expect the fat to be higher.

At face value of 9 calories per gram of fat and 4 per gram of carbs and protein, that comes out to 110, so a lot more in line with the Madeline's 150.

 

Interesting. Cholesterol is higher in the ones with the almonds (makes sense, I think) but the fats are similar.

This some black magic going on.

 

I'm glad someone reminded me I hadn't cooked carbonara for a couple of weeks. My kid has a cold/fever and this is comfort food to him.

Bacon, "burnt" garlic, egg, asiago, black pepper, fresh made pasta.

The girlfriend bought an instant pot and I've been using it to serve up a feast lately. Not shown - Cioppino, turkey chili and bbq shredded pork. This thing is definitely a cheat code.
