What sliders are those? Looking good!

 

Not the OP, but they look a lot like RCI (and I know where they put their logo so I spotted it). I have them also but w/out the top plates as I incorrectly assumed that the top plates would collect more snow/ice. They do a good job collecting ice with just the pipes.

They are RCI with top plate and 20° angle.

 

Honest question: Why not Woolwax the sliders (and armor) as well?

 

Mostly because they prevent appropriate access to the frame and areas you are trying to protect from rust. Also both the sliders and and skids are powder coated and less susceptible to rust. Finally, wool wax is an absolute mess and dust magnet and I wanted them to stay clean.

 

Up for today will be swapping out the stock SR steelies with some TRD wheels wrapped in Wildpeaks.

 

Thanks for the explanation. I have the RCI sliders on the "to-do" list this spring and want to make sure I'm understanding as much about integrating them as possible.

 

Stuck on some black Tacoma lettering and some LED interior lights .... waiting for the actual parts to show up in the mail

 

I love mine, easy install, I used those small rubber pads in the front corners with a bit of silicone to hold in place after the first week to make it water tight in the corners.. great price, great product, and does everything it should.. Did quite a few functional budget mods on my 19 after owning tacomas since they introduced their first V6 in 88..
Lighting, leaf springs & lift, cab noise, rust protection, and some other minor stuff.. didn’t cost much doing it myself, combined with research and staying away from any purchases on the west coast..LOL

 

Keeping those steel rims? Are they the 16's?

 

Here in the northeast anything and everything underbody, between the wheel wells gets shot peened by gravel, rock salt, and road cinders all winter, followed with a coat of liquid brine and rock salt..

 

Yup, not keeping the 245/75r16s and the steel rims. They will all be up for sale soon along with the TPMS, wheel covers, lug nuts, and the spare tire. I’m keeping the spare rim though.

 

Did my 15k oil change, added a Fumoto valve, and cleaned the air filter.

Nice!! When do they come on or is it a manual switch/button?

 

On my truck it’s connected to the bed light circuit that is located at the third brake light. It’s the double throw switch, activated with the door - off - manual activation.

 

Awesome love that! It’s a small thing but light back there is so useful, using my phone sucks lol

 

My ‘20 OR didn’t come with the lights, but the wiring was already in place. Nice for use with a tonneau cover in the dark.
