Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

Got my computer/gaming desk cable management 99% done. Just doing some tweaks and then it’s on to getting the computer back together.

 

Pulled the battery out of the gmc and brought it to get tested. They said it was dead, but couldnt say if it was bad. I told them I had it on the charger monday and after 10 mins it was fully charged. They warrantied it since it was bought in ‘21, but now I concerned maybe the battery charger is not working right?

Popped the new battery in and it fired up. However, even after turning the truck off, a cel is illuminated, and wont turn off. I also hear a very faint, high pitched noise in the engine bay, extremely hard to hear but its there. Pulled the terminals off so it doesn’t kill the new battery but there’s something more going on here.

Might just try and sell it cheap while being up front about the current issue. Wife doesnt want me sinking any more money into it, which I agree with. Ready to cut my losses with this thing.

 

Did you see what the voltage is at the battery while it was running?

 

Really proud of my USB hub install. I have one on each end of the desk. One is plugged into the mini PC and the other is plugged into the main PC.
It’s held on with double sided tape.

 

So now I have a low grade fever going.

Did a second Covid test at home, negative.

CEL and that noise are gone now. I swear this thing is just fucking with me.

 

Those numbers look good to me. Now turn on all accessories, A/C (max cold), high beams, rear defog (if equipped) and see what the voltage is while running.

Ill check this am. Pulled the terminals off the battery because the CEL and the noise came back (still with the truck off).

I did notice that whenever I connect/disconnect the battery, I hear a noise in the fusebox, and the engine. Almost like a clicking noise from the fusebox and some kind of electric motor noise from the engine.

Between 14.79 and 14.81 with high beams on, cargo light, ac and fan at high.

 

Still waiting on some details before I pull the trigger.. I'll keep you posted
