Milwaukee Tools

It was a good thing I had my girl with me, she had to stop me from cleaning them out.

 

Grabbed a few of these at HD in Northern CA. Hell of a deal. They were in the "clearance section" on one of the end caps.

 

Damn, was just at HD for something else and didn't see any deals other than the 3/8 stubby at 170 package

 

These were in the cage with the rest of the Milwaukee batteries. No end cap and no big advertisement. Just a yellow tag that caught my eye. Saw the price and immediately called an employee over.

 

That price is fair, I now own the echo polesaw for my pas system which was $200, however I was very impressed with the harbor freight portland corded polesaw for only $50 that I used sparingly for a year or so, it can even be run off a 2nd gen tacoma bed outlet.
If you decide to buy the Milwaukee polesaw attachment you should also buy the extention.

 

I don’t own any M12 tools, all of my stuff is M18.
How do the M12’s work for you? I hear they don’t quite have the same power as an M18(of course), but they’re damn handy/convenient to work with.

 

So I work for a Gov. Municipal water dept. All our cordless tools are Milwaukee and 18v and honestly most of the time I wish I had my 12v stuff. IMHO I think the 18v is just heavy and awkward, don't get my wrong it has its place. But my 3/8 stubby impact with an XC 4.0 has done far more than I ever thought it would. Everything between 10m fasteners and lug nuts.

When I travel, camp or wheel I carry my 3/8 impact, a 3/8 cordless ratchet (also m12) with a decent set of 3/8 impact sockets (SAE/Metric & deep/shallow) and I have no doubt about whether or not they will perform. I doubt I'll ever go 18v.

 

My Brother-in-Law gifted me an M18 drill & Impact Driver a few years ago, to replace an old POS Porter Cable I had.
For every project I’ve used mine on, they’ve been absolutely reliable and I can’t imagine not having them now.

Over the past few years I’ve added more & more Milwaukee. I gotta say that I’m consistently impressed with these tools.

good to hear about the M12’s as I’ve considered adding an Impact Driver to take with me in the truck.

 

M18 & M12 fan. M12 3/8 high speed ratchet, 1/2 stubby impact, and rotary tool are my favorite M12 bits specifically due to the handiness/convenience of the smaller profile.. The 1/2 Stubby with the CP2.5 battery is a real nice piece of equipment alongside a m18 or other high torque impact. Tough to really pick one or the other. Both excel in their given categories "small profile" and "long lasting/power".

 

With the M12, battery size matters for certain tools. I know there is a video on YouTube showing a noticeable difference in performance when using a larger battery.

 

Well it does and it doesn’t. 18v tools are 18v tools under load.

However, for varing reasons, there is voltage sag o. A higher Amp Hour battery can reduce that voltage sag.
Milwaukee’s high output batteries (as well other companies like dewalt) have and use a different battery cell (21700 cells in the case of Milwaukee) which have a higher discharge rate. The result is you get less voltage sag.

Dewalts stacked lithium has a 1.7 ah performing like a 6 ah battery, but without the run time.

 

So I shipped this back to Milwaukee on 2/24 and got the notification that it was repaired on 3/1 and shipped back to me on 3/2, scheduled for delivery today (FedEx Ground). Well this just showed up. Wasn't sure if they put it in a "new" box or actually sent a new one. Well upon opening, they sent a new replacement. Pretty sweet and amazing turnaround time. Amazing service as far as I'm concerned.

 

Does anybody have any experience with m12 handheld vacuum? Most reviews on the jungle website says it has no suction but it sure looks handy for vacuuming out car interiors.

I have both regular m18 & m18 fuel vacuums . Both work great. Just require big batteries for run time. I have a coworker with a m12 and says the same about it, likes it, compact, just requires larger batteries.

This comes with a gift 5AH battery add on.Total 219 +st. Thoughts?

 

Not that specific vacuum. But I do have the M12 Fuel Wet/Dry Vac. Definitely need to bigger battery. I run the 6.0 and it's great for quick cleanup jobs. It's never going to run like a corded, but for what it is, it works great.

 

The M12 drills are not impressing. The impact I use everyday just about. But the drill is nice because it’s smaller that’s about it

 

Good kit. Just remember the M12 hammer drill is fine for light to moderate use, not going to run the same as an SDS.

 

The hammer drill will just be replacing a vintage 9v Makita. Both items are basically home use. Is the kit with extra battery good price?
