3/4 done. ITS FREAKING HUGE! I have no idea where I'm going to display this once it's done. way bigger than I was expecting.

VERY familiar with the Super Scoopers - got a whole fleet of them based out of my local airport. I see them flying around a lot mainly in the off season like right now while they're training pilots or testing out a new plane and water mechanism
    https://bridgeraerospace.com/about/

But my first introduction to them was when I lived in Alaska and there was a fire burning nearby. I lived out a little ways from town, not a lot of neighbors and right near the coast. Lots of air traffic in AK so hearing little planes coming over low was no big deal. But one day a big plane came right over my house super low and I could tell the engines were really straining, trying to gain altitude. It was so low and so loud that all of the pictures on my walls were shaking, couple small things fell off a shelf. I ran outside to see WTF was going on, half expecting to see a plane crash. But when I looked up I saw this weird looking yellow airplane right overhead, water still trailing from the belly and pontoons. Just as soon as it was departing and the drone of the engines was fading I heard more engines coming from behind me and turned around to see another one coming right over me again. I waved at the pilot as he went over. They made several more runs that day to get water out of the inlet/bay but flew just south of my place after that. I don't think they realized that anyone lived in the house I was in and once they saw me they altered their course just enough to not buzz directly over me.

And in the process of moving the Saturn rocket to clean the shelves, this happened. So now do I rebuild it or tear it all down to do later? But I do have an empty shelf to fill now. Hmmm.....

Anyone thinking about the airplane be warned - it's kinda big. I think I might end up trying to hang this from the ceiling, no where else to put it

And they were pretty cheap with the spare parts for this size of set IMO. Woulda been nice to have a spare of each type of axle/pin. And no brick separator!

The general is still on site and things are falling behind schedule. But what has been completed so far, is quite large and substantial. The few details/greeblies that have been applied so far are amazing. The internals so far made a very robust structure.....

The general has been notified that there are parts missing that need to be acquired before progress can continue.
The commander had to resort to ordering supplemental parts (12 or so different kinds of parts) and the troops have had to stop work until the parts arrive.

The commander is not happy, as the general has made it clear the timeline MUST be kept....

Tinkered with the design of my small tractor. The original design had a 4 stud wide cab with full glass. The new version has a 5 stud wide cab with horizontal split. The windscreens still have to be 4 studs, and it can't have side panels and still hold a minifig. Both designs have pros and cons. Trying to decide if it's worth rebuilding for Brick Days or leave it alone.

I'm gonna have to show my oldest son this thread. He will be blown away at some of these big builds.

We just had a LEGO themed party today, for his 8th bday. And I helped (mostly watched) him put together the Star Wars AT-ST. Both my boys have amassed quite the LEGO collection for being such young lads.

I remember starting somewhere around that age with one of the old school Lego jean bags that opened ina big circle so you could just pull/zip it back up. I STILL to this day have most all of my elements from all those childhood 1980s
sets, even though the jean bags has long since desolved and been thrown out.
I even have my original Lego catalogue from 1980:
