It supports up to 4 channels but you can also run it in bi amp mode if you just wanted to power the front speakers. Also, here is a pic of my Hideaway 10 underneath the drivers seat. F076E9D6-D3DE-4371-AD53-DC56237815E9.jpg

Even with the new power seats? I’m surprised

Waking up an older thread but wanted to confirm that the Kicker 8" Hideaway does fit under a powered driver seat? Does it affect any of the range of motion?

    Thank you!

For the P300-8P, aren't you able put it in the passenger side's storage compartment without taking out the plastic?IMG_0614.jpg

    Edit: added a question mark...

This is what I did, the shop did a wonderful job on the install. They wrapped the wires and my box is a little more to the left, they added some molded foam for a clean factory look. The sound, the bass and clarity from the RF is amazing for the money. I added a set of 2 way dash speaker/tweeter combo which greatly improved it. Getting back to the RF 8 inch sub/amp combo is the best bang for the money, looks factory installed and its not expensive at all. Best kept secret and I got mine installed and out the door for $400. I did the dash speakers prior for $120 and they were Rockfords as well. Next I'm adding new Rockfords door speakers with an amp on the head unit. So for what I have invested I'm happy.

That took some work I bet. How much cutting or what did you remove? I would like to add another 8 in RF sub and amp combo for the driver's side.

No cutting required. The storage bin is held in by 2, maybe 3, bolts and can be removed.

I added a 400w RF amp to the factory head unit, behind the dash and it sounds absolutely amazing. For about a $1000 invested I retain the stock head unit which I actually like and its all hidden. It rivals some setups costing a lot more.

One of the benefits of having the plastic kept in place is noise coming from the rear of the cab. For my needs, I used the passenger side for my sub as I don’t access that side as much as the driver side. I still had to use a little sound deadener to quiet things down even with all the plastic in place.

Wanted to do a PSA of an alternative option to the kicker hideaway. I like many who might find this thread did a ton of research on sub solutions that required little to no cutting and trimming. I originally purchased the Kicker 10" and put it behind my driver side rear seat. It just didn't have the presence or the response I was looking for.

My local stereo shop who were also big tacoma enthusiasts recommended the JL Audio 8" powered micro sub. I was hesitant at first downsizing from a 10 to an 8 but let me tell ya this thing is a night and day difference! I have kicker ks speakers, kicker amp, and a sony head unit. This completed the system, and added just the right amount of bass (it'll no doubt rattle the rear window).
