I’ve been using cast iron pans for a few years now, I appreciate the cooking results. I recently saw a video on YouTube. I think it’s appropriate here. I would like one of these in my kitchen.

Yeah, growing up my parents always used one. That was a long time ago, stoked to finally have one for myself!

Just curious if anyone in here has looked at the Lodge BlackLock collection or has purchased one. The real question is, are they worth the extra money with them being lighter and seasoned 3 times ?

Never knew this thread existed, I just read all 63 pages  :anonymous:

I've recently started cooking with cast iron. My current cooktop does not work well with a lot of cookware, but on a whim I tried an old cast iron pan. Works great. It was my great grandfathers, so I'm guessing 1920's or early 1930's. Knowing that side of the family it probably came from Sears and Roebuck back in the day. It took a little bit of work to get back up to snuff. The outside is a little crusty, but the inside is perfect now.

I usually cook in olive oil, but was running low so I brought out the Crisco this weekend. Super unhealthy, but I made the best fried chops and chicken thighs to date this weekend...

Kinda strange cooking chicken the same way great grandfather did way back in the day. I have a couple more pieces of iron to dig out and use and need to get a larger pan for larger fry's.
