Howdy folks. Newer here. I have a 2019 Tacoma 4x4 DCLB here in Montana and just purchased the Ironman lift kit in 3” front coil over mediums 0-400 and the normal leaf pack for the rear. I am trying to maintain the normal factory rake on the truck. Just looking to see if I should send back the 3” and swap them to a 2.5” height. Iron man isn’t to specific on what I should obtain. Thank you in advance.

Anything over a 2 inch lift will cause other issues down the road on these trucks which is why most people get a 2 inch lift. You can address some of these issues up front but after reading this forum for the last few years some issues will come up based on how you use your truck.

If you have the foam cell pros they are adjustable. Lower the spring nuts/rings by about .25” and see if you like the look. At .25” on the strut will lower your truck about .5”. Adjust more as needed. They will settle a little bit too after a while.

Just to add a little more, you can adjust the struts while installed on your truck. If done it several times. Just gotta lift it and take the wheels off. There is a set screw probably on each ring. You’ll need to take them off before you can loosen the rings to lower the spring. it takes me about 1 hour to do an adjustment when it plays nice. With your new kit, it won’t be rusty or anything and should be pretty easy. Just order the spanner wrench from Amazon.

I’m just wondering what the difference is between the front at 2.5 and 3 vs the rear. Mine is the LB so it will set higher. Seems not to many folks have this set up.

I’ve got it on mine! They have 3 different coil spring options, A, B and C (listed at the end of the part numbers) A is 720# and the tallest. B and C are 827# B is middle height and C is the shortest. If you have the A, I would just lower it some and see how you like it. I have a thread on the kit, if you check out threads I’ve made.

I’ve not update the links and they have changed. They separate the Tacoma coil springs as a different part number but the specs are still the same

    Front coils:
    TOY065A - Performance Load
    Free Height: 390 mm
    Spring Rate: 720 lb/in
    TOY065B - Performance Load
    Free Height: 382 mm
    Spring Rate: 827 lb/in
    TOY065C - Constant Load
    Free Height: 380 mm
    Spring Rate: 827 lb/in

That the spring rate is 720 lbs per inch.

Looks like you should be getting the A springs, which I would recommend with no constant added weight. I’d say get the lift put on and see how it looks. If you want more rake, just lower the fronts some. Getting the higher spring rates will increase the stiffness.

I’m confused on the rates. Apologies man. So if I had ordered 2.5, would the coils of been a different rate? When ordering the kit it gives you 3 options. But says nothing about coil weight.

No worries, I did a lot of looking when I ordered mine a few years ago and constantly looking and messing with crap on it. My last experiment with changing something failed…. But that’s another story lol.
I just checked the site and I think that the part number of the kit “TOY066ABKPS2P” shows the spring part number. There is 66AB, 66BB and 66CB. I could be wrong but I don’t see anything else that looks like it matches. The coil springs are all similar to the start of that part number as well.

FWIW...I have the same setup on my DCSB. I selected the 2.5" medium load front coils and the medium load leaf springs. With no load in the bed, it lifted the rear 3" and has a slightly visual rake forward.

So if this is what you are describing, the 3” coils have the softer spring rate? Looking at the chart the 2.5 are actually stiffer. So you have the stiffer spring set. Not the stiffest, but they are stronger than the 3”. Which ultimately makes me much more confused. I just want a good lift. And for it to ride/ look good. What did your rear lift go to?

I’d say you’ve got the lower rated springs. I played around on a few different pages on IM site to try and figure that out. There should be no issue with that kit and then lowering the lock nuts a bit to get the rake. It may also make the ride softer some. Higher rated springs will be a stiffer ride.

To know 100% you might want to do online chat with them and ask.

If you’re going to add a lot of constant weight, the 2.5” would be good. With just your dirt bike I’d say the 3.0” should be good for you, then adjust if needed. The 2.5” are meant for more weight and to keep it at the lift height.

I have the same leaf springs your ordered and am happy with them. Most people that have ordered the higher load leafs end up removing a few leaves because the rear sits up too high.

What was the true height lifted in the rear and front after settling? 2.5 front and 2.5 rear?

good question, I’m not sure I’ve measured the rear in a while. Here is when I did a review of the lift-
    drivers side front 20.5,
    passengers side front 20.75,
drivers and passenger rear at 22”.
I measured 3 times since it was less than most others at stock height. As of today, I’m at
    Drivers side front 23.5”
    Passengers side front 23.40”
    Rear 24”

Here is my review of the lift, maybe it’ll help answer any other questions https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3-8-22-updated-ironman-foam-cell-pro-review.687891/

seems that if I add a half in in the front based off your measurements, I should just opt for the 2.5 since the rears with the 2.5 coil are a half inch from the rear already. If I go with 3”, it will look lower in the rear and no rake. Thanks for your help man
