Does anyone know if the 2wd Tacoma (1996) came with a factory skid plate? I recently bought a 2wd with only 120k a few weeks ago and noticed there’s nothing protecting the radiator or underbelly. Found one up at pick-and-pull but it ending up not fitting. Cross reference shows Tacoma and 4Runner used the same plate in 96 so I assumed I was good snagging it off a 4Runner. Racking my brain trying to figure this out.

5 lug and 6 lug are different. So if you have 5 lug the 6 lug 2WD wont fit. But you are correct the 6 lugs fit between taco and 4runner.

It is not a Skid plate it is a Tool catcher.

5 lug are very different With some Fabricating the 4x4 style should work.

Tool catcher? Lol. Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Would any of you happen to have a picture of the 2wd looks like? Or maybe a fab tutorial I can follow.
