    Actually got something done the other day. Basically the only thing stopping me from driving truck. Been distracted with building dirtbikes for my kid.

    That seal is not supposed to do that. Then I ruined my 2 spares and had to order more. 4th times that charm. She plunges like a pro.

    Oh, she runs and drives. All motor shit is money. Have to do antiwrap bar only. The mounts are all on. Gotta box out front of frame and paint and im basically done other than dialing in the suspension. Getting an alignment later this week maybe.

    Yeah, this weather sucks. Gonna make a push this weekend. Supposed to be nice.

    Just got my second tonneau cover that doesn't fit. WTF is it impossible to find a 5ft first gen cover for under $1000. Tried a 3rd gen, tried a chevy colorado. Both too wide and a bit short.

    Just rivnut in some snaps along the bed rails and get a canvas tarp and add snaps to it.

    Or sew velcro loop into the tarp and attach the hook side on the bedsides.

    a good option until it snows or some weight gets put on the tarp and then tears or breaks it

    Could do the same idea, but mount it to a frame made of aluminum extrusion.

    Could probably get it done in less money and time than trying to source a premade that fits. :notsure:

    Well scratch the time, the way OP has been going :rofl:

    ya likely. Haven't looked, but it sounds like new toneau covers for the 1st gen 5ft bed are spendy.

    Sorta ironic how the last thing "holding up the build" is a bed cover, after busting out all the drivetrain and suspension work in no time :D

    @betterbuckleup as well

    Yeah, the cover thing sucks. Its basically $700-800 for a trifold tonneau, 1200 for a backflip or 1800 for a diamondback. I just left the 3rd gen on there for now. It makes a seal and it was only 250. Ill prob make one at some point in the next few decades. Still fighting this weather. Its amazing how shelter changes things. I remember the good ole days last month when I had a cushy shop. Fuck.

    Friend of mine has a retrax for sale, $1000 IIRC, but it's off a 2nd gen. Still pricey, but not new pricey.
