It's either pics only and no details, or no pics and details only. Come on man.

I'm betting it is a PowerStop Z36 Extreme Truck and Tow 6-Lug Brake Rotor, Pad and Caliper Kit; Front. @TX-Taco-Truck welcome to Tacoma World. If I may suggest: when you do cool shit like this people will what to know everything about what you are doing including pics (of the kit, on the truck, comparison shots if you have any so we can see your upgraded parts next to the stock ones), fit and finish of the parts, where you got them, etc. Most importantly (as far as I'm concerned) is lessons learned during the install and how the parts perform if you have had a chance to test them out.

You may see members here get a little testy... it is all out of frustration (I believe) because you did some cool shit and (I believe) we'd like to know more. Welcome!

Mic_sierra you know you stuff. My old rotors were getting thin. I upgraded rotors, pads and calipers (nice red ones). I paid off my tacoma so I am upgrading some each month.

Speaking of brake upgrades - Are there OEM Toyota caliper / rotor upgrade options for the 3rd Gen Tacoma? Something along the lines of upgrading the 3rd Gen 4Runner to Tundra calipers and rotors…

You can put 2010-2014 4Runner brake calipers and rotors. They little bit bigger

I really want to do this, but my breaks are not that bad yet.

rock auto has each caliper for $50 each. And then you get whatever brake rotor and pad set up you want. I seen kits for $100 for rotor/pad set up….and then there are break rotors for $250 each side.

You get what you pay for...$100 rotor/pad kits are not worth your time.

what's the upgrade? Are the rotors larger? They look to be the same size as oem. The caliper looks stock just painted...and drilled are prone to cracking and serve no purpose, slotted also is prone to crack if cheapos but at least serve a purpose. People who don't know better think cross drilled and slotted means a quality rotor (like better stopping, cooler use, less prone to fade) but that's not true...only slotted has a benefit IF a quality brand, avoid drilled even on quality brands honestly. yes I know you have seen it on race cars and stock ferraris, those rotors also cost more than your truck, just avoid drilled.

even new oem rotors are shiny, anyone can paint oem calipers too and make shiny, ok, looks nice but no increase in stopping power...this looks like all stock replacements just shinier...so again, ARE the rotors bigger? if so what brand? cheapo ebay or legit brand? if you got cheapos better go back to oem...seriously. When people upgrade brakes it's larger rotors and larger, stronger calipers...slapping some cheapo drilled/slotted rotors on and spending hours painting calipers is NOT an upgrade.

and oem pads are probably the best too, unless actual larger rotors and calipers from a quality brand and they also sold the pads...btw, super hard LOOOONG lasting pads will not stop as well...those low dust ones are hard and don't stop well either...kinda like motorcycle tires, I want soft tires because they grip better, don't last for shit but I won't slip (and when you only got two wheels grip is preferable to longevity) oem are a good mix of both worlds. if you get low dust it's not gonna stop well, think of a rubber eraser vs the metal that holds the eraser...which grips the paper better? sure the rubber leaves a lot of debris but it sure stops that pencil...so again...HOW is this setup exactly an upgrade or better than oem?

We tend to be very passionate about "upgrades" here...and some of us can come off as assholes...we just lack tact and don't mess around and get straight to the point, feelings are unimportant really
    <_<
    >_>
not sure who I could be referring to *cough*myself*cough* so we're gonna microscope any such claim...just fyi

I should add...I do not intend to speak for the whole forum, so this may just be me

Op's brake components are similar to the EBC kit I had to do on my 2001 tundra, but the stock brake components were really under engineered for a truck bigger then the gen1 tacoma at the time using the similar calipers, and rotors. So far zero complaints with the brakes on this gen3 tacoma. Over 20k miles, and the pads look hardly worn.
