Is there a reason why the top hat is on top of the coilbucket?

EDIT: nevermind, LT version.. I'm not a fan of that Top hat design..

That's not the whole top hat, that's just a reinforcement piece. The main top hat is under the bucket and that moon shaped goes on top for reinforcement. It's designed that way to get the upper shock mount as high as possible into the bucket.

They're non resi. I've got bilstein 5100s on the 2nd notch rn, but they are too squishy with my winch, and my tires rub when the truck descends over bumps. I think they should be fine, I do a mix of speed stuff and technical stuff, and my buddy has them cranked all the way up on his 4runner and it doesn't ride like crap. He's got a full bumper and a v8 though.

ahh ok. I was definitely confused by what I was looking at. Interesting design.. but I wonder if that's why it failed?.. needs more meat?..

It's certainly possible. A cross brace between the two towers or even the hoop for secondary bypass would likely also be enough to keep that from happening.

because 3.5 to run a cross brace it’d have to be almost vertical then 90 across not doing much.
So the hoop is in and we’re spacing the bumps down some because frame flex etc. Harry advised go straight air bumps up front to be safe. So it’s in the cards for later down the road.

meh to some degree. Its just a way for the LT guys to better tune their suspension over just a rubber stop. And to do it for the gram and the likes to get all the bitches wanting to ride in your truck.

There is a reason why we have no more ladies in the aztw. hahaha and yeah usually for the gram. We have a few guys here that run them and get them to put in the work. But for the most part us regular joes can get by without and put the money in other spots.

You could just need heavier springs. Are you running the stock springs? I mean if you wanna do the whole kit go for it but you may be able to save yourself some cash and just put like a 650 or 700 (that could be pushing it with your set up) and be totally happy. If they were adjustable resi shocks I’d say jump all over it.
