95/100 I decline extended warranty’s. Esp. 3rd party (ask the 1,000’s and 1,000’s who bought warranties for their appliances from HH Greg)

anyway, big thing I would check:
    - what happens to your $ if vehicle is totaled, stolen or traded in? My 20yr additional car warrant experience:
    - Audi (totaled) got a very fair prorated refund
    - 2006 Z4 BMW (headlights only): had to fight, but got ~ 1/2 back after I had to terminate lease early due to deployment
    - Wife’s Corolla: traded in for a Chrysler and got zip out of it
    - VW (declined to buy) because it seemed to be 100% outlay first and zero ability to get anything back in the event of early total loss, trade in etc.
    - BMW (CPO 328). I’d argue CPO is basically a factory extended warranty. Fine print = Pay out for claims was bad. Lost my ass on wheels, tires, electrical and struts. ROI terrible

I just bought my wife a new Prius and the dealership wanted $3,600 for the same warranty that Jerry is advertising for $1,360 in post #45, so I’d say that the dealership definitely has a cash cow tied up out back if they can get you to bite! Another point about the Toyota extended warranties that most people forget about is that they are transferable and if you don’t keep the car for the whole warranty period you can get some cash back.

FUUUU. Anyone know if I can cancel the purchase I made at the Stealership? I'm afraid my wife agreed to something on the order of $6000 for 10 years, tires, and some third item I can't recall.

Yeah, one of the stipulations to buy the warranty from Jennifer and I assume Jerry as well is that it can never have previously had a warranty before.

Does anybody know if Jennifer is still at Lexus of Ann Arbor? I emailed her about a month ago about transferring a warranty I had on a Tacoma I traded in for another Tacoma (I originally bought the warranty from her) and haven’t heard back.

She doesn't sell toyota ones anymore only lexus, call Jerry. He's much more assertive than the others and gets you all the paperwork within a few weeks.

Just an update with my purchase from Jerry, I received everything from Jerry (receipt) and the a week later I received the Toyota warranty packet that had my vin, warranty start and stop dates.
I know I've already said it, but Jerry was grest to work with and everything went as smooth I could have hoped.

Never mind just Canada for that pricing. My dealer here in New England quoted me hundreds higher for the same plans. Really pissed off the sales manager, or finance guy when I refused multiple times. Well it's been already 3 years, and not one issue. I had a gen1 tundra for 19 years...my very first issue was around 13 when the o2 sensors failed, and that was at nearly 200k miles or so.....those sensors rotted right off the cats.

Good morning interweb, wanted to ask if I can buy a Toyota extended warranty out of state? I’m in Northern Cal and a few dealers I have talked to are way more than discussed on this thread.

$1300 dollars to cover a potential timing cover leak or cylinder head issue is well worth it. Plenty of people on this forum have had this issue right outside of the factory warranty and both items are 4k plus to fix.

These are good truck but do suffer from some $$$$ repairs between 60-100k

All your "issues" with an extended warranty can simply be avoided by reading the contract.
