Might get roasted for it not being a Taco but I put the SS3s from my old truck on my new truck. I wish they included more of the stickers they usually gave out in the box with the new brackets. I was wanting to put the same sticker I had on my old truck on my new one..

I just got my truck about 2 weeks ago. Each one had multiple cracks and water droplets behind the lenses! Should be much better at night!

    The bottom are fogs
The hood mounted are combo back light white lights with yellow covers.
    First I love these lights.
The yellow is a game changer for me.

The hood mounted lights came with a round 3 pin switch. Up turns on the combo lights, mid position is off and down turns on the back lights.

I didn’t want to drill a hole in my dash so I bought an on-off-on switch on Amazon that’s way to big for the dash.
So I used a plain old stsp on/off switch and wired it to the combo lights and haven’t been able to use the back lights yet.
I did get one suggestion for a switch but it’s $30 + and I’m not even sure it’s what I really need.
Either way it seems excessive for what it is.

Anyone have or know where I can get a
3-pin on-off-on switch that will fit in the dash holes for 10 to 20 bucks? Hell I’d pay the $30 if I knew it would just plug and play…

    Help is greatly appreciated

Got a set of the new rock lights, with red lens. Hoping to not kill my night vision on camping trips. These will be for additional light in the shell of my truck. I already have some white LED's that came with the Alu-Cab.

Seem to be nice and beefy, easy to mount. My only gripe is once the red lens goes on, I lose a lot of output. Without a lens, or with a clear lens, they are very bright. Worst case I'll get a set of clear lens and just use them for additional supplemental lighting.

I bent up some brackets and will have some night shots soon. Made a killer harness using techflex loom. Be aware, the wires they use for these are super small gauge. I only had 18gauge on hand and it was 4-5x as thick, LOL.

I think for most people, either white or the RGB set will be the way to go. The colored lens just loses too much output.

Can you have yellow SS3 with clear lenses? Does the lens determine the color or is it the led?

The yellow pods use a slightly different emitter and then a yellow lens to provide the color. So you could buy the yellow pod and replace the lens with clear but it wouldn’t be the signature DD yellow, just a warmer white. Hopefully that makes sense.

The yellow lens DD fogs have a 4k colour temp emitter which is close to the color temp of a halogen bulb. The selective yellow color comes from the lens.

The clear DD lights have a much whiter 6k colour temp emitter.

There are some advantages to buying DD selective yellow fogs in 4k and putting a clear driving out combo lens on them. I did this with my DD SSc3 aux high beams.

Finally had a chance to get my rock lights wired up as auxiliary lighting in my alu cab.

I had some weird issue wiring a 12v socket which internally shorted and caused my fuse block to act up. Had to replace the fuse block and redo all of my bed lighting which was a pain til I had the weekend free.

Something to note is that ONLY the SS3 SPORT and PRO have the 4000K if ordered with Yellow lenses. The SS3 MAX is only available with a 6000K LED due to no 4000K LED being available for the design restrictions. The Yellow MAX lens has more filtration for the 6000K LED to effectively filter out the blue, indigo and violet wavelengths. The 4000K LED has less concentration of blue, indigo and violet color so the filtration does not have to be as intense and that allows for more output efficiency.

SS3 Sport/Pro Yellow lens (less light filtration) - If used on a 6000K (white) Sport, Pro or Max will have a greenish hue to it since it's designed for the 4000K LED's color spectrum. On the 4000K based SS3 Sport/Pro it will have a true Selective Yellow like it was designed for.

SS3 MAX Yellow lens (more light filtration) - Can be used on all 6000K (white) SS3's and have a true Selective Yellow. But, the output will be less if the MAX Yellow lens is used on a 6000K SS3 Sport/Pro compared to the equivalent SS3 Sport/Pro originally spec'd with a Yellow lens. I don't think anyone has tested how much of a difference it would be though? @Diode Dynamics, any ideas??
