I had one about 2 weeks ago, tracking showed it was out for delivery in my zip code. About a half hour later tracking showed it was in another city 30 miles away. The mailman told me what happened sometimes is the package gets put on the wrong pallet. The proper and correct pallet gets scanned at the destination, so they assume all the correct packages are on it. Then a little while later the individual package gets scanned somewhere else, like in a city 30 miles away. So all of a sudden the tracking changes, and the package you thought you were getting today you're not getting for another day or two.

At least yours is moving. Here is my gear coming from north face. It has been sitting there since the 28th of February. Is Cali having bad fires or bad weather?

Me and my neighbors all meet at the mailboxes at 6:30 pm. We swap mail. I get there are 5 mailboxes in a row. But come on, if the private sector ever ran like the government did. It would be out of business in seconds. to check into the VA you go to a person behind the glass. They check your info issue you an arm band. Retest for Covid and your blood pressure. Then you go see a nurse who scans you arm band, then you get your bp taken and get a Covid test. If that one is negative you move to the beds in the ED. If one Covid test is positive. You are put into isolation and then you never see anyone. But if you show up drunk or high. You get the best treatment you can ever get.

Frankly it’s amazing usps gets anything delivered. FedEx barely better. UPS and Amazon light years ahead.
Depending on the item and time of order, I’ve seen Amazon go Cali to Ohio in less than 24 hours…for Free Prime shipping. It’s ridiculous really what my $140 a year prime membership pays for.

Funny I have pretty good luck with FedEx in my area. But yeah, I think its safe to say for the most part UPS is the king

Here, UPS is the most efficient and they deliver to the door. The other leave a package by the side of the road where it is subject to the finer folks in life. I find this kind of odd. I read so many negative articles about unions; FedEx is non-union, and UPS is union, but I'll take UPS delivery any day..

Generally, I'd agree that USPS sucks. Randomly they deliver something early, but my mail carrier puts my stuff in the wrong parcel locker all the time (about half of the packages I've ordered this year) and their usual delays are next level.

That said, I wonder if they could be any good if there was no junk mail and they only had to process mail that actually mattered.

I do wonder if it would be any better if they didn't have to deal with a bunch of Amazon packages

It’s raining here, which happens this time of year every few years, but everyone’s acting like it’s the end of the world. There was some flooding, but not in the last few weeks.

$20 per hour, equates to $41,600 per year, before taxes, so after the government gets 15%, you're left with $35,360 per year, divided by 12 comes out to $2,946 per month. Then factor in that every 1 Bed Apartment I see for rent right now nearby goes for $1,200-1,500 and they want you to earn 3 times the rent just to qualify.

This is just in a small town in what most from Seattle would call, just a place to get gas their way through. Get any closer to the big city, and the costs go way up really quickly.

I'm a property manager. Tenant calls me and says they're not getting mail. Why? Mailman lost his key. I called the post office for a week straight letting it ring for hours. No answer. Finally I went to the building and sat there for half the day until I saw a mailman who confirmed he lost his key. Gave him a new key and a side eye and a stink eye. Fucken people are the worst ever. Oh, and my number is on the building. All you had to do was call.

UPS out of the Pacific Northwest as well as UPS Southern California in know way can compete with the postal service. These regions consistently take a week to get a package on a truck to the east coast, generally taking 10 to 15 days delivered. USPS is less than a week door to door. YMMV

All in All I guess it really Comes down to where one lives

Freight has corridors where it moves fast some areas it has always taken forever.

Then the interesting winter weather patterns might be a factor.
