I would be down if I didn't already have camping plans in Jericho for labor day weekend. NMW looks like a ton of fun.

 

Damn. This is the first year we aren't doing labor day weekend too! We usually do it but one of our main guys has a concert or something labor day weekend this year. Not sure what that'll mean for us re: Black flies, campsite availability, weather etc but we'll find out!

 

I was planning on seeing if anyone is interested in coming up that weekend and doing some trail runs when it got closer. The campground itself is connected to the trails so it's a short limp to camp if anything goes wrong lol.

The campsite itself is pretty restricted so it's hard to invite a bunch of people (limited 6 people to a site/2 vehicles but can park in "visitor" parking). - this is the fb page that updates on the trails..

 

What's jericho actually like? I've heard the green trail is walk in the park easy and then it immediately gets into buggy territory lol, but I am interested in checking it out...

 

I went in October for the Halloween event they had so I could go up to the windmills and warming hut for some views. Green trails are actually decent if you're on 33s I'd say. I had fun on 35s. IFS skid and some sliders are a must imo. Theres def 3+ hours of green trails to do as it's a pretty slow pace with how rocky it is.

I met up with a JKU rubicon on the green trails and he had to winch once, I used my rear locker once. His diffs took a beating as well but he was an older dude just sending it without spotting his lines lol. He also put himself into a tree and dented a fender flare. I did a little damage to my rear bumper and my shackle hangers hit a few times..

From what videos are posted on youtube I'd say it's gotten worse over the years + they've cut in some new stuff that I really didn't see on youtube.

I really want to hit some of the black trails despite the 38" tire recommendation.. they looked doable on 35s if you've got a winch/some armor and not afraid to send it a little bit. There's only 2 small sections label as blue and I wouldn't consider them much as a "trail". More like small loops you can hit off the green trails but def harder than the green stuff..

 

I'm hoping to have the 35s clear and a high clearance front bumper on very soon, I could be convinced to get silly on blacks didn't spend all this money to not try dumb shit hahaha

 

Man have I got a black for you if you get to AOAA this year.

Jericho can be tough, I would say it's not stock friendly.

 

I haven't been stock in a long while this seasons looking real fun haha

 

I just meant for ME to say something isn't stock friendly should tell you something. I still count mine as 90% stock. Suspension and tires are stock, I just have more armor

 

I always forget you're not super built, mostly cuz it doesn't stop you hahaha

I’ll be looking for some people to do the black trails with as I won’t do those alone. This is the actual layout of trails. You can see most of it is green and black and small sections of blue and red. Can pick/choose what black trails to hit too as a lot of them cross over greens. right out the gate(Parking sign in the bottom right corner is the actual campground/parking lot) you can choose either green or black lines. Green are two-way travel where blacks are one ways. The red trails are absolutely crazy. The purple is a access road that you really can’t go on (ATV/UTV only)

 

A friend of mines is coming up and we’ll be renting some side by sides if anyone wanted to come up just for that. Super fun indeed lol
