It'll be interesting to see just how many different videos there are covering the event, and how many I can stand to watch before getting worn out haha.
There are so many different YouTubers involved in the event as competitors and judges, plus who knows how many spectators may publish videos about it.

    Is it pointless? Yes
But is it a real event taking place which people will attend? Also yes
Will it be entertaining? We'll see

    Oh it’s definitely a gimmick
But it’s entertainment and I hope to be entertained :D

Maybe there will be some sweet spectator videos like there were from KOH of the wrecker

100% agree. I’d much rather watch the edited down 30 minute video than waste days at the wrecker Olympics. I can think of much better ways to spend a vacation. Even if I took a trip to sand hollow I’d rather go wheeling myself than watch them.

I’ve honestly been watching a lot less MORR since they videos have gotten longer and longer. They do some cool stuff but not cool enough that I need an hour long video of it. Miss the old shorter format.

I don’t watch the entire videos. Usually skip through to the parts where they are actually doing recoveries.

I went, it was really cool seeing things irl versus on youtube. I only saw the trail wrecker event on Friday, and stopped by the vendor booths today. At several points I was within a few feet of the rigs as they tackled obstacles. Cool to see how they use their rigs and knowledge differently. Also a lot of side show activity with people getting stuck in the sand and the amateur recoveries that followed.

you typically don’t go to prison for insurance fraud.

What was the actual crime? Did he just pretend that a recovery was on the road instead of off-road so that the customer could use their AAA account?

There were several cases of him doing that. But there were some other ones where he was transporting construction materials for someone and charged that to AAA as a tow as well.

The material transport one was pretty blatantly fraud but the punishment he got seemed pretty appropriate for the crime to me.

Sounds fun. My kids love Matt's Off Road Recovery and wanted to go the the Wrecker Games, but a certain bank collapse last week made me work all weekend. I'm hoping they do it again.
