Lol I just feel like I was expecting more. Going to see how it is after I revisit it in a couple weeks.

I never enjoy Bookers off the rip. They always open up after sitting for a few weeks.

The store i work at has a 1937 Macallan Fine and Rare for 60k. There was one about a year ago at 130k that sold within a few weeks apparently
Prices in that range are crazy to me at face value but i guess if you're looking at it like you're buying a historic artifact they're probably par for the course

You can also do the same with a Yeti (or any of those type) insulated tumblers. For me it takes about 8-12 hours to freeze and it yields a perfectly clear cylinder of ice. Chop it in half or whatever you wanna do from there. Put a couple in the freezer at a time and I get clear ice for a week or two.

Definitely will report back after I revisit. Of course my palate I feel is still new, I can't describe much. I just can only find the difference between something I enjoy a lot vs only a little.

@ToyoTaco25 thanks for the share. I’ve watched a few videos, but like that he has a bit of water on the bottom. The others I’ve watched were solid ice and they cut the nonpure ice off. This looks easier, faster as well.

Yep, both methods work using the same principle - directional freezing. If you leave it in the freezer too long, no problem really, but yes it'll all freeze together with the "cloudy" ice at the bottom and you do have to wait longer for it to unfreeze enough to slide out. Just gotta find the sweet spot time wise for your freezer and it'll leave water at the bottom and slide out in a few minutes. Just be careful with the cutting part, it gets slippery lol.

That's a great idea. It'll be a lot easier to find room for a tumbler in my freezer than a small ice chest.

Yessir, that's why I went that route. If I had a deep freezer I'd probably be more apt to do the 6-pack cooler. One of my tumblers is slightly smaller ID that the ID of my glasses, so the fit is perfect if I want a big chunk. If I time it right maybe 4-6 hrs, it'll give me 1 perfect little "hockey puck" like chunk of ice, so satisfying lol. I usually just let it go the 8-12 hrs and it'll give me 2-3 "hockey puck" like chunks once they're chopped up. I usually chop those pucks up in 4 pieces.

Was it your first pour of the night?
It also helps to have a pour or two of some lower proof stuff prior to having a high proof guy

Yep…I’ve already had a slip up with a knife in the last two months. Thumb still hasn’t fully healed from my incidence at Christmas…so I may just stick with my silicon trays for now :)

I've been hunting for a surplus military plastic flask like my dad had years ago. They're great for sporting events because they don't set off metal detectors.o_O
