I’ve been trying to figure out what direction I want to go with suspension but I can never make a final decision so I’m looking for advice.

I own a 2019 SR5 2WD Tacoma and I’m currently in college so I don’t do any trail riding or barely any off roading so I don’t need anything fancy.

I’m trying to get 3-4 inches of lift without sacrificing ride quality. My budget is $1,000 for the lift but If I can save money while not sacrificing ride quality then less is always better :)

What options do I have? Also would love if someone could make it simple to understand.

You want 3-4inch of lift? Without sacrificing ride quality? You're a college student on a tight budget?

    Simple. Keep it stock.

Stay away from useless lifts it'll just make you shell out $$$$ in the future from fkd up cv axles, needle bearing etc.

1k in a lift also leaves u no cash for bigger tires (which will cost more than your lift) and fixing all the vibrations and complications from your non-functional lift.

It will become a useless money pit.

There are plenty of ways to do it. But when lifting a truck inherently there are other issue that need to be taken into consideration. What size tire to what to run? How much lift to run it? Will I need UCAs to correct alignment? Possible driveline vibrations and what’s needed to fix. Etc. I would budget 3-5k for lift , tires, wheels etc. You won’t need to worry about cv issues or needle bearing issues as you have a Preunner.

I was thinking about running 33 inch tires on 18 inch rims and a little bit of offset but I’m clueless when it comes to how wide I can fit and I’m guessing I need a 3-4 inch lift for it.

I’d run 17”’ wheels there are more tire choices. If you wanna go 4” since you have prerunner id use a lift knuckle like max trac (then you can get away w/o a aftermarket uca) If you decide to run a true 33 depending on wheel offset will dictate how much and what will need trimming, if you’ll need to do a cmc etc. it’s not just lift 4” and throw on a set of 33s.

Consider looking for OEM take offs from a pro also.

I had an 18 2wd just do a front spacer lift like 1.5-2 then some bigger tires but I wouldn't go to crazy.

Not for nothing, but if you’re not going off-road and hitting the obscure trails then I’d skip the lift and just save your cash. The truck is pretty capable as it is.

It's 2wd, so it's a looks lift. Your $ would likely be better spent elsewhere.

But if you must burn cash, follow @Bishop84 advice
