Zip ties and a roll of electrical tape have come in handy MANY a time for fixes and medical uses.

I also keep small medical stuff in my backpack (ibpruphen, one time use triple antibiotic ointment packets, bandaids, a thing of superglue for wounds etc).

Just realized I glossed over your question on the bag. The way it wraps around the handlebars and the triple clamp make it incredibly secure.

For some reason first aid is something I never thought to have, but should be common sense.

I figure of all the places I’d need to use a tourniquet, being on two wheels in the dirt is pretty high up on the list.

One thing is to know how to use the firstaid stuff and where it's at in your bags. Nothing worse than needing it and not knowing how to use it, or waste time searching for it

Yeah but when you're on your way back from a friends wedding four hours away and are trying to outrun a hangover those ibuprofen come in real handy. You ever been hungover in a helmet? :puke:

Lots of convenient items that are good in non-emergency care, though. Especially things like their super skin, had a hot spot on a pair of boots and it was a life saver. I took a few things out to make it easier to re-pack, but left the majority in there.

Edit: also curious on what parts you think are junk?

I have. Eight hours riding a snow machine across the Canadian border after a heavy night of drinking. Even worse because we wear balaclavas with a breath mask that covers the nose and mouth and directs it down out of the helmet away from your goggles. No escaping the smell of stale booze, vomit and bad choices from the night prior.

Barf. Mine was 4 hours across central and eastern washington in the summer, it was like 80 in the morning and 90+ by the time I got home. no matter how fast you go you can't out ride it.
