When i was at 70k, third gear started grinding on shift and i couldn't reliably get into reverse.

I changed the fluid with redline and everything went back to normal after a few days of driving. The old fluid was pretty stanky too.

I changed the fluid again at about 140k. I'm at 190k now and haven't had any issues.

The yellowish brown thing is a clean spot at the bottom of the housing. Here's a pic after cleaning it up a little bit. Still got some goobers to get out. Chilly today, and truck is at the end of the driveway.

Great idea with the screwdriver. Yes, it seems to go into reverse with no problem at all. Of course, after I remembered to go right-then-down, mirrored from the gear lever which is left-then-up. Huge relief anyway, seems it's probably not a major tranny problem. New seat & bushing is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

It's been a year maybe two since changing the tranny fluid. I had a local shop do it. So ok, you can fill from the top eh? I'll need to find the drain plug, check the procedure, and get some good fluid.

    Much thanks for the feedback.

Same thing here. Always have to slow shift into third. I will try Redline MT-90 but I sorta got my doubts.
