Totally understand. I got over the Mercedes Bends back in the 80s. Been Japanese or domestic since.

Your sarcasm has always been subpar. But I could always hit back with routinely scheduled cam replacement

yeah...it seems like some buyers, especially some on BaT, don't ever bother looking locally or want to deal with private in-person sales so they end up thinking vehicles like this are more rare than they actually are, then one finally comes up on their go-to website Bring A Trailer and they bid the ever living hell out of it to claim it as theirs.

I mean if they had bothered looking elsewhere they'd know they just spent at least double what they needed to. Triple even. But hey, if they're happy they're happy

Yeah these decentralized auctions where there is no opportunity for people to see the vehicle in person makes it so people romanticize the condition and value. Then they overpay

71 sheep are hit on the highway by my work the other day, @ $1200 a sheep it could be a pretty good check for the owner. The fbi is investigating to see if the dude put them in the highway on purpose, coulda been a dead person if it had been a a car instead of a semi

I was just gonna ask how the hell one vehicle managed to take out 71 sheep without going off the road or getting stopped by all the bodies, but a semi moving at speed makes sense

Or as a friend of mine suggested... maybe BaT is just a money laundering scheme.

I mean yeah possibly, high value art and art collecting is just a way to store funds without being taxed so it makes sense you could do it with artificially inflated car values too.

There's heists and then there's art heists, the kinds of crazy ass complicated schemes people do in the art world to scam or steal is mind boggling.

We've bought some stuff at Mecum, I'm in a few 2021 episodes with my Moms Mercedes and Dad's Jeep J10. They don't always take a lot of aired video of the first days items, but they start the auctions with fairly reasonable stuff before they get into the rare and uber collectable stuff that fills the bulk of an episode.

Art is just a scam, it is for the rich to hide money and avoid taxes, its about as safe as a bank since it can be insured.

I'm theorizing hpop because long crank and the loud af injectors... no power too

    But it's just a theory

The pedal works... there's no dead spots and the engine always responds

    No scan tools
