ill also add areas i like to hit, theres more but off the top of my head
    1. hitch, takes a lot of abuse back there
    2. Wheel well and all it entails. Hit those shock strut tops so when you replace theyre not rusted
    3. Frame Crossbars, get inside if you can. I have a spray can tube adapter to do this., but usually just blast away with the straw
    4. Fill and drain plugs
    5. Anywhere you see that rust, give it a squirt

My experience over the years with batteries up here is that four years is the normal life span. My truck was built in February of 2019, so I expect I'll have to replace it this spring sometime. I might opt for a AAA replacement instead of getting an Interstate from Costco.

I'm getting lazy in my old age, but then again I've been changing batteries since I was big enough to hoist them off the ground. ;)

I am going to try to wait until the battery goes, but I need to get those add-a-thing terminals. I have juuuust enough going direct to battery I should do something about it. Switch panel, solar panel, soon 2x radios (assuming I also put my CB back in). Might do a terminal block or something instead. TBD. I am toying using the switch panel for the radios, I don't think that's kosher though. Will have to do more google-fu.

That really sucks. I had that happen years ago. We had the home inspection done and were just waiting for the closing and the seller’s wife freaked out and decided not to sell/move. It was painful at the time but in the end we found a better place in a better town.

I do have a cam as well. My suspicion is the sitting for a few days. Haven't driven it much lately..wife hasn't driven in 2 months so I've been using her Rav4 periodically. I want to say mine is the Advance Auto brand?

That won't shock me either though since it's original at 130K. I cleaned the posts and clamps at lunchtime and it went on at 13.7, left it running about 15 minutes and was at 13.1 under load.

I've always said a 5 year you can reasonably expect to get 4 from especially since mine lives outside all year.

We had our purchase of a first home fall thru in the late '80s for the most bizarre reason. Very rural area, hardly any recent sales of any kind. As a result, mortgage firm was unable to value house we were buying...nothing to use for comps. Worked out okay, bought a nicer house in a nicer area. But as young buyers the first one was a nightmare

Had the shitbucket tested. 600 CCA battery 4 years old, had 386 avail under load. Alternator tested good. Guy suggested to just monitor it and surmised perhaps the dip on the CCA meant it needs to be driven more to build up the charge.

By my Ultragauge at starting it's 13.7 and when I stop it can dip to about 12.5 when I drove it around 7pm for 30 minutes. Though on the way home it was only dipping to around 12.8.
